Where paperwork goes to die

Last week I turned in a bunch of paperwork to my boss.
Orders requests for my entire AF Reserve training team, along with all the other stuff that goes with it. I went through all of it with him to make sure everything was good. He later sends me an email stating that since they would be here over 2 weekends when noone would be here for supervision, their orders wouldn't work (we can only give them 2 days off out of 15 days on orders).
I then had to go talk to him and explain that I had submitted an orders request for myself as well to cover at least one of those weekends.

"Oh, ok... Ummm, I think I shredded everything."

Sure enough, he can't find any of the paperwork I gave him.

So, now, I have to turn everything back in. I think I will tell him that I have already shredded one set, burned another, and flushed another down the toilet, so that he doesn't have to. Maybe then he will just send everything up the chain.

Sometimes, being an ART is an exercise in not choking people.

And everyone wonders why I don't have a lot of confidence in government programs.

HAHAHA, this reminds me of Hitchikers guide... "Fill out the forms in triplicate, bury them, unbury them, burn them, let them sit under your dead grandma for three months..."

Ohhhhhhhhhh, yes.

I remember this kind of stuff. I used to send requests for equipment or whatever the case may be and it get 'lost'. So I started submitting twice, a day apart and got in trouble for trying to 'stockpile' alotted company equipment.

Fort Bragg was the best place on earth. Once it was in my rear view mirror.

The only time I got in trouble for ordering stuff was when I ordered a C-130 engine and none were available. When the supply clerk asked me if I wanted the 'next higher assembly', I said sure and later got asked why I ordered a complete C-130E aircraft.

OK, so you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Spent alot of time bowling there at Pope. Flew out of Pope many times. NCO club was fun sometimes.

I'm guessing you are hating being in the Chair Force like Spike. I'm in and love it. I guess you youngins need more work.

Second guess is the you were a Crew Chief...yeah ... we all did the famous "next higher assembly" ... I thought it was funny. I was a crew chief on Tankers, then AWACS. I didn't dig it so much as you and Spike. I like my math friendly desk job now....but I live on the beach...
