Would you buy a brand new G8 GXP for 36k?

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

That's a tough call...

Easy call for me.
I'm not in the market for a car. I don't need a car. I'm only buying because it's the Camaro I've allways wanted. I HATED the 4th Gens (appearance) but I love this car. If the Camaro wasn't coming up I wouldn't be buying a car at all. I know to most, this is dumb as hell but I've allways said, if it's worth it to you, then it's worth it. |

![]() But for a good deal of people who are worried about practicality without wanting to give up the LS3 performance this is a great deal. Basically like an M5.

I got one with a manual transmission.
First order of business is to get some better rear tires. 8" rims are a joke on this thing. Then scrap the stock airbox as I still can't figure out where the inoming air actually comes from. It appears to have to take about 4 90 degree turns to find the throttle body. The exhaust note and engine roar are awesome. Those of you holding out for the Camaro will not be dissapointed. |

The seat of the pants feeling? I traded in my G8 GT, and compared to that, the GXP pulls harder. Once I get it to hook up in first, which isn't easy, the car easily feels faster than the GT. The unmarked redline comes up FAST, so fast in fact that I have bounced off the 6600 rev limiter a couple of times. I don't time my 0-60 runs, but the 4.5 sec that MotorTrend got in the GXP is very believable.
