Bob Lutz would fall on sword for Wagoner

Quote:
Bob Lutz has been eerily silent of late. One would expect the Vice Chairman of General Motors might have something to say about the recent trips taken by GM, Ford and Chrysler to Congress, but he left the talking to his boss, CEO Rick Wagoner. When it comes to members of Congress suggesting Wagoner step down as CEO, though, Lutz could stay silent no longer. In fact, Blogger Bob even went so far as to offer up his own head for the gallows in order to keep Wagoner in charge.

Lutz told the Detroit Free Press that he should go if someone has to resign, and he pointed out his controversial remarks regarding global warming as a reason to pick him instead. Lutz went on to praise his boss for transforming GM into a global automaker and streamlining the company's processes.

It should be pointed out that the current legislation on the table for $15-17 billion in federal loans doesn't include a requirement that any of the Detroit 3 CEOs resign. Senator Chris Dodd (D-Connecticut) did, however, mention in a TV interview that he thought Wagoner should "move on".

OK. So he is a little crazy. At least is fun-loving, and loyal.

Maximum Bob.

Much love for Bob! I like people who speak their minds. I say send HIM up to Capitol Hill and let'em loose! HA!

"Not only have we unanimously decided to give you the 15 B in loans, but we formally apologize for razzing you regarding your private jets and CEO's large salaries. Thank you for bringing to our attention our current mistakes with our 700 Billion bail out to the nation and how we could have more adequately followed through on supervising those funds. Yes, we will use your guidance in the future. Thank you, Mr. Lutz."

We don't even care what your position on Global Warming is Bob.

Everything he makes or is behind is fun. The guy flies his own jets because the ZR1 doesn't go fast enough for him.

He's a motorhead in charge.

Eccentric is the term for him...Eccentric Motorhead. lol

That's some fierce loyalty right there. I would expect nothing less of Bob Lutz. He's part of the reason that GM will survive this.

It was Bob Lutz who turned GM's product around.

We seriously need some personal advertisements with him on National TV like Iaccoca did with Chrysler in the 80s. That's the only way people who don't follow the car scene like we do will ever realize that GM does make world class products now.

That's not a bad idea...Lee is quite a person. Read his books if you can.

That is a great idea. This is a guy that the general American public could get behind. Honest, straightforward, no BS. GM needs someone that has a blue-collar feel to get out there and explain the situation and all GM has done to make great cars. If anyone from GM is listening, get this guy out there more!

Pretty funny to have Dodd talking about how poorly GM is run and that they can not balance the budget and can not deliver what the people want. Makes you wonder why Dodd still has a job. Have not noticed him balancing any budgets OR giving the people what they want.
