Let us know how the power is. One thing I keep hearing in reviews is that the power is just so so. Which seems odd with 305hp. Obviously, I'm not looking to go race it. I just figured it would be pretty peppy. Reviewers keep making it sound like it's lacking.

The Z71 4X4 Crew Cab tested by MotorTrend did 0-60 in 7.4 seconds while the Tacoma TRD Pro did 7.7 seconds and Frontier Pro-4X did 7.8. In the 1/4 mile the Colorado did 15.7 while the Tacoma and Frontier both did 16.1. It is clearly the fastest in its class so for someone to say that I would have to ask what they are comparing it to.

1,300 miles on mine now. It's not lacking in power, it needs serious tuning in the ECM. The throttle response is very lazy and it does not want to kick down a gear on a hill. It will sit in high gear while you slowly push on the throttle but the speed and rpms continue to drop until it starts bucking and dieing. You get pissed and stab it to the floor, then it drops 2 or 3 gears and tears off. Very silly. Some sort shitty tune for maximum fleet wide fuel mileage. Starting to tick me off really, makes me want to drive around in M and manually shift it.
Same with the hill speed control, you are coasting down a hill and the next thing you know it drops 2 gears and revs to 3500 while your eyeballs kiss the windshield.

I started it this morning with the door open and was not impressed with how noisy it was on a cold start, complete with some sort of exhaust shield rattle or something like that coming from underneath.

Excessive drive train vibration too. You can feel the engine and drivetrain in it, not modern vehicle smooth.

This is the best looking mid size truck out there and I have no complaints about the suspension and handling, fit and finish. You know what they say about buying the first model year of a new vehicle, well it's true, let's hope they improve it in these areas.

I bought a 2010 Ford Fusion, really liked it very nice in all areas, I had it in for some warranty work and they gave me a 2009 Fusion to drive for a few days. That POS was like driving a 1972 Corolla. I could not believe the difference a year made.

I leased this one for 3 years and will make damn sure they refine this model properly before I buy another.

That's probably what they're experiencing. My first guess was maybe a lazy tune. Maybe vitesse needs to make throttle controller for it.

I have read similar feedback from other Colorado/Canyon owners. The Trifecta tuning seems to be a huge improvement.

Quite sure it is. I'm still back and forth on colors. It's Black or Red Rock for me right now. Just wish ordering would open up for this one.

Yeah, I've read some of the same. Flat land around here so it probably won't be too bad for me.

my friend ports throttle bodies and does tuning services so me and him will be looking at improving the performance of this truck.

Man I really love the way these Colorado's look! I just wish they weren't so freaking expensive, I priced one out the way i wanted it and it was over $30k with not many options and being a first year model makes me nervous. priced out a 2015 Nissan Frontier thru USAA and it comes back around $23k for the V6 crew cab with auto. I'd rather go with the Chevy but the price difference is just too much for me and I need something before hunting season starts.
