I apologize if anyone thought my comments recommending self-limitation on polls were harsh. I don't want to marginalize any opinions because I like everyone's commentary. I just didn't want to give anyone the impression that we, as a community, don't appreciate the product. The Camaro is amazing. I'm sure we have have 1 think we'd change, but it is a beautiful product of hard work and an inspired company.

Poll thread

I was out of line. I'm sorry to you Fbod, and to all of you forum members. There is not an excuse that I can use other than it was just a bad moment and I wont post again. Thank you for taking time to remind me how important it is that I be respectful and thankful of each customer. Good luck to all of you in your new Camaro's. To those who pm'd me, thanks for the thoughtful insight and gentle way you presented the issue.

Must I remind some people that the word "Camaro" means friend, pal or comrade?

This site is a nice site to visit because bad behavior isn't tolerated.

Now -- Polls:

If you don't like polls, don't click on the thread! Simple as that!

Polls are good to a certain extent -- yes, we get the temperature of the enthusiast -- but frankly the polished wheel issue and blue were pretty much solved by the Disciples telling us that we needed to do it. We COULD do it without a huge amount of money....(you'd be amazed at what it costs just to validate a wheel or a color......).....

Now -- that said: the danger is that "well -- we took a poll and GM won't do it so GM doesn't care about their customers"...........THAT'S a problem!

I think you could poll people to death and we'd get to where the customer is demanding 50 color choices and 80 interior choices.........AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN BY ANY MANUFACTURER other than, perhaps Rolls and Bentley......

So -- let's keep it nice --

.......and to a certain 'GM Employee' -- calm down..........we need to be kind to our customers.

OK to poll - just understand that we can't do everything that everyone wants and keep the Camaro reasonably priced -- further, the more you 'proliferate' a model (more build combinations) the more expensive the base cost of the car becomes - and quality can suffer. (want a perfect car? limit it to ONE build combination....)

Hey, if you are a GM engineer, I can understand your position. The company's in bad shape, as is the whole market. Maybe a little frustration over that escaped in those posts. And nobody likes hearing people criticize your work, I understand that too. Just keep in mind that not everyone's going to be completely satisfied with every single car, and that's where you can start with the next generation vehicle.

Anyways, thanks for bringing back the Camaro. No hard feelings whatsoever.

So....What ya'll talkin about?

GM has been building a succesful line of autos for 100 years without our help, I think they've done a GREAT job with the car.

Having said that, Cheryl specifically told us to say what we like and don't like, but she should have gone further, she also should have said..."You can catch more flies with sugar than vinegar." It's not so much saying you'd like to see something different, as saying "GM sux", or any of the 500 other negative hateful comments we've had to suffer thru just to get to a few words of wisdom.

Its one thing to post an unpopular opinion. But disappearing is unacceptable. Stick around, help inform the masses about automotive engineering. You've seen what happens when people don't understand the process.

No need. People have gotten off to a bad start before, mostly mopar and mustang guys, and all has been forgiven with them.

Everyone - -I need to say something in defense of Questar999 --

There are many of us that live/eat/breathe/ what we do. We look at the Camaro as one of our children - or a member of the family.

Stop for a minute and let me ask you this: What would be your reaction if I said "your Momma is ugly and can't walk and chew gum" -- or "your child is so ugly that an Aztek got up and ran away!"

(sorry Pontiac fans...)

(couldn't resist that one - )

( and the first person to use this in their signature will meet with a fleet of black suburbans.....)............

See what I mean?

We want to hear your comments - but it is NOT a nice time in Detroit right now -- open any business journal and you'll read that this industry is in 'melt-down mode" -- and so many of us are a *bit short* when answering emails or threads.

We hope you'll understand that we, too, are passionate about the Camaro......and sometimes we post things that were not quite thought thru. We've put stupid amounts of overtime into this car to bring you the best Camaro ever -- and we feel so strongly about this car because we've had the opportunity to see just how well this car will perform............and we know that 99% of you are going to be blown away.
(I'll be kind and not address the other 1%...........)

(sorry beings that they are!)

(whoops.......)

So -- let's keep the dialogue going -- let's keep it friendly -- and let's always remember that we have a lot in common - we want the Camaro to be the dominant car in this industry..............

Now -- back to our regularly scheduled program.

(and would you PLEASE stop kidnapping me, IrocZluvr?)
