Hell yeah I'm Guilty.....

It Tanked
Yeah, it Tanked big time....I am glad I recorded Walking Dead instead of this,
I would watch Walking Dead again..Haha. OK, so Tanner Faux had the personality of an Anemic Vampire on this show, Well most of the time really but more so here. The whole staged chopper thing...please stop insulting my intelligence!! SERPENTINE---SERPENTINE, really??? he would have had you at "HELLO---YER DEAD!" ![]() The Al Boreland (BORE-land) wanna be tries to be funny...but alas just isnt. I actually saw rubbish dribbleing off his lower lip. Go back and make another movie like "The Hangover"...Oh wait, that was the guy WITH talent. ![]() And the 3rd guy no-one really remembers or wants to, he basically is one step above the crewman in the red shirt in STAR TREK who always gets killed 30 seconds into a mission. ![]() Star in a small car.......AWSOME STAR, 250,000 miles an hour in a Tuna can....thats Moxy and Guts right there y'all. BUUUT alas...so many missed opportunities by the non host...for comic insertion. In fact there were at least 25 opportunities for comedy that just "Walked on by" thru out the show. And the car....a Suzuki???? This IS Top Gear America right??? How about flaming a Dodge Avenger or Ford focus/fiesta...for God sakes get a NEW Impala Police Package and flog that!! And the STIG.....SOME say he was the FIRST Imperial Stormtrooper, and that he drank breast milk from a Bugatti Veyron.... All we know is hes called the STIG! You Listening Buddy?

Not terrible, but shouldn't have been called top gear. Nothing compares to the real top gear. THe imagery, the music, the production and most of all, the hosts.

Agreed times 6 ![]() These American top gear hosts are more fake than the new mustangs advertised fuel economy. Ok maybe there not that bad but the one host that interviewed Buzz is a mindless so called jokester as a NASCAR commentator. Come on really

I don't have a problem with Top Gear (US)....but they could have done a better job with the personalities. Take Tanner Foust and Paul Tracy from Battle of the Supercars and add Jay Leno (huge car enthusiast with a vast knowledge of the industry) who can be funny to boot. I think the possible chemistry between those three would make that show much more interesting.

This show has too much to live up to. Don't get me wrong I'm still going watch it, but there just isn't the chemistry like on the BBC. They are definitely licensed from the Brits, but I think it would be hilarious if they dumped on the British stuff like Clarkson dumpson the american stuff. They totally should be doing British jokes about teeth and wiring harnesses.
The reasonably priced car on the UK version was a Chevy for some time, so it is still fitting that they chose the Gadzuki. Although I do agree with you, they could have chosen something more home grown. |

I went into this with low expectations after reading all the negative comments. It's a good thing too, because it was about what I expected.
The choice of hosts is the most disappointing thing. I've seen Tanner host shows in the past, and knew I wasn't going to like him. Don't get me wrong, he can drive, but he's just not very interesting, and doesn't have any real chemistry with the other hosts. The show itself still has promise, and it's better than anything else (Motorweek) out there. I suffer though the Australian version, and Fifth Gear, and I still watch the long in the tooth, and desperately in need for an update Motorweek, so I'll still watch it. Hopefully future episodes will get better, but the original will always be the best. |

I'd like to see real car guys with personalities and the ability to banter like Adam Corolla, Tim Allen & Christopher Titus. Cynical & sarcastic, warm & likeable, with cranky & bitter.

I was disappointed that Adam passed on this to do that sit-com development deal, that I think went no where. Tim Allen would have been good too, but they probably couldn't afford him. Oh well, it is what it is.
