If anyone has ever watched rally racing, or even Top Gear, you can see an Evo is capable of. I consider myself a CAR enthusiast, not a Camaro enthusiast. That's not to take anything away from the car. I guess my point is that you don't have to down other cars or make "car racist" remarks to make yourself feel better about owning an incredible piece of machinery. Alright, lets see what everyone says about this.
I refuse to say those cars in their stock factory form are ricers....

I owned a skyline when I was stationed in Japan. It was a turd. Not that Skylines are all turds. This specific one was a turd of epic proportions. I could have painted it up, put a GTR badge on it, Given it 8" pipes that sounded like a broken lawnmower and gotten a used C-17 wing to put on the trunk. Hell everybody else that had one on base did that. But I didn't want to drive a ricer....

Pull the stock wheels off your car and see that they are made in Taiwan.

Yes, you are giving your money to an American company (Chevy, Microsoft, Harley Davidson, etc) but the Camaro is chock full of crap made in taiwan.

I'm cool with Made in Japan, or Made in USA.

Seeing made in taiwan or china and I call it substandard crap.

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG...

But I am an American Muscle fan and will always be one. Anything less 8 cylinders is not worth my time. Yes the Camaro is made in Canada but the company is based in the United States and that is were the profits go. Not over seas. I live in the greatest country in the world, why not support it.
Oh driving a ricer is kinda like bangin a fat chick, it’s cool until a friends sees you!
This video pretty much sums it up.

I was all about getting a Skyline (new version) until I actually went to get one. After I went through the maintenance, computer issues, breaks etc, that was it. I'll keep my $90k and get a car that isn't going to spend as much time in the shop as a Ferrari and not have the flash to go with it. Still like the gadgets, just not spending $10K to do a break job.

To me rice is non functional stuff on a car or not using you car to its full capabilities. Whether it be, superchargers, lowering kits, ground effects, rims, etc. Heck if you own an SS and you are not utilizing the performance, you just like to tool around, parking lot pimp or post pictures of it on the internet...you are a ricer....Drive the thing and use those 400+ horses...just my opinion on ricers...entitled to my own opinion right?
I use mine, but since I am not around the track much, I can't tell anyone about it...:(

I like all cars.. and if hooked up with purpose in mind like saying racing yet. but I hate when people buy a car and put huge spoiler to just put one then say that their fwd car that understeers bad handles better now with that huge wing..
or people hook up there 4banger (no one hate I loved my 500HP 4banger) turbo it or whatever then have the need to go everywhere and say geez those mustangs or camaros r so slow.. big v8 and they still slow..
that shit annoys me to hell..
My SRT4 could slaughter my camaro and it only had 5K into.. does that make the camaro slow hell no..
what is peoples need to put other cars down all the time.. jealous?
Im a car ethusist. I love cars.. I see a civic with nice work to it. Coilovers, KA20 turboed.. I give the guy his props..

sorry.. just venting

The "we" generation has turned into the "me" generation. The first Camaro I see with a coffee can muffler, I am punching the guy out!

That is exactly the point. We have been sold out. We gave away the TV and computer industry without a fight. Most new products are invented and developed in the USA. I am a tool maker at an R&D company here in the US of A. The thing that made me go from being a production machinist to becomming a tool maker is the fact that we no longer make very many things here. If all of you import fans know any history, you will know that the reason us northerners won the civil war was because we had the manufacturing facilities and the south did not. The north waited until the south's superior soldiers ran out of guns, ammo, clothing boots etc. A USA without a solid manufacturing base is in big trouble indeed. So if you do not care about this then go buy your Toyohonarubishi cars. I will stick with my Camaro, Buick and Harley, thank you.

If that is "car racist" then so be it. I also do not want a car designed by Ferdinand Porsche under orders from the man that started the car company (Volkswagen) ( Adolph Hitler). You can fact check any of this if you want.
So, you check EVERY product or just your cars? Better be looking at the content label too as much of today's assembly items come from those countries you seem to hate...

And a car "built by an American company" does nothing for the American production worker if it is built in Canada. At least a Toyota assembled in the U.S. benefits the working American production employee as they get a paycheck out of it, the plant pays taxes in America, and the local economy gets a boost from the additional employed citizens that then spend their money in the local economy.

The argument you put forth is one of worst for why someone should buy a car... Is a Buick assembled in China better than a Toyota assembled here? If you want to support the American worker, then buy a car assembled in the United States with parts built in the United States.

If you want to buy a Camaro because you really love the Camaro...buy it. Don't justify your purchase with the fact that it is an "American" company when the production does not occur in the United States. That's almost as good as people calling the GTO an American car...the thing was built in Australia. There are plenty of "foreign" cars that have much more American content than some of our own "domestic" cars...

That's what we used to say about Japan.... The Chinese are very good at quality...if they are concerned about it...Those Haier refrigerators you buy at Wal-Mart for dorms or garages...that's a dependable refrigerator...and guess what...comes from China. Haier has been making refrigerators for many many years...
