Finally done, launch game and it crashes, restart and another update..........

[took over 10 hours to download that 26megs I had left, even on a 14.4 baude modem, that would be slow.]

It might be advisable to get yourself some faster internet. Slow connections + online multiplayer + inherently laggy game = bad

I don't have 14.4

But Im still starting to hate the game before I can even play it, I can download anything, from anywhere else 5+ times faster.

No clue what speed its running at, though seem to have plenty of internet to do other things.

does the game launcher make you click update every time it loads by default, before it will let you launch the game???

Or am I on yet another and like my 12th update????????

You have to click update every time. It will go through a check, then download & install the update if there is one. If there isn't, a couple seconds later it will let you launch the actual game

I have earned my Z06 ... unfortunately, it isn't quite as good as my Elise. Stupid EA programming monkeys ...

oh, and they seem to have fixed a lot of their lag issues

I stopped playing for a couple years & started back up a few months ago. They've kept improving things and its better than I remember it being. They've ditched the 3 tier system and now have 6 classes: E, D, C, B, A, and S but driver skill can usually make up for one class level. There is a decent rotation of cars you can buy for in game cash. Not as many races are available as there used to be but that means that there are often more people available for each individual race. And there are still about 20 that are open at any given time. Money is easier to earn than ever, and experience (in the XP points sense) seems to mean absolutely nothing now. So its no longer a such a grind fest to get that car you wanted. If you've got the cash (and they sell if for in-game-cash) you can buy it.

They also have an achievement system that rewards you for doing various achievementy things (get 5 minutes of airtime, paint your car 10 times, buy __ number of cars, etc) that give you cash, power ups, parts, or cars when you earn them.
