Had it started much earlier when I inquired about it, that may have been different. It it may change in the future.

Yes there are MANY people I respect here (including some MODS), and yes GTAHVIT and I tend not to get along. Perhaps if he met me in person rather than reading the text I type, he might get a different impression - but I won't hold that against him
There are always 2 sides, and it's not always going to work out for both of them.

Scotty... you were always a Camaro fan first to me. The fact that you were also helpful and in the business of selling them... was a distant second.

Isn't that really what brings us all together... The Camaro!

I would only be able to guess... but being a Moderator has to be a thankless job. And you, a gaming moderator , lordy !

(Just don't forget to check for WHITE writting on those 'evil' moderators' posts!)

Thank you for what you have done in the past. No one is saying that you haven't helped out the site.

I think you have me mixed up with another dealer, because I was one of the few doing MORE than selling cars. When people find numerous threads discussing this, someone will more than likely contact me to buy a car, and that simply is not allowed under your rules, since I'm not lining any pockets.

I dont have you mixed up with another dealer. No one is saying that you cant still sell cars to forum members. You just arent allowed to advertise on here (anymore) without being a paying sponsor. If someone wants to buy a car from you, I believe your contact number/information can be found at your personal website... which I do believe is open for everyone to see on your personal profile.
Just to be sure... let me go check.

if a member wants to buy a car from you, nothing in our rules prohibits them from calling you or emailing you. What are rules are prohibiting is the unallowed posting of sales threads by non-sponsored members. Lining pockets has nothing to do with it.

We are the largest 5th generation Camaro website out there. and for how long did we run without requiring paid sponsorships? I wont go into the details as to why we started paid sponsorship as that is not my place at this time. But lining pockets had nothing to do with it. Do you think I or the other moderators getting paid to do this?

I can't just hang out like you say...someone will want to do business, and I'll have to not even comment on those requests. So it it obvious I was here for Camaro above sales. I'm proud to see a few others finally learning by example lately, because it is more than just posting your cars for sale in the CAMARO'S BY DEALER section.

thats complete horse crap. I'm fully aware that there's more than just posting up vehicles for sale. Customer-dealer relations are the key.

You say you can't just hang out because someone will want to do business. How hard is it to reply to them that you cant sell a car/parts to them thru the site because you arent a sponsor?

There's nothing keeping you from helping members where you can outside of directly marketing your cars and doing vin lookups.

You have decided that you can't help anyone.

Look at all of our other vendors on here. We have numerous threads where members are asking for help on modifications for their cars and nearly all of the vendors have joined in and provided the information the members needed WITHOUT trying to push their product.
Its not that hard of a concept. But apparently you cant seem to grasp it.

I don't have an issue with the "past" that seems to be brought up. I received a three day ban for posting a url to a camaro ordering tracking site which I had nothing to so with. My notification said "you have been warned not to post that site", but I guess I was included in with the group that does run it, so it was a shared / implied ban. (others warning applied to me...)

Just because you dont recall the warnings, doesnt mean they dont exist. I dont have an issue with the "past" either.

The second past item is this site giving a dealer an exclusive to check customer orders....including those orders that could be mine. I was one of the first to check orders via email and PM as far back as April 2009, before a dealer checking them now was even here. GM had asked me to stop. Eventually, the VIZ started doing it and "paypal" was involved. I was told not to post in the order tracking thread because you want one dealer doing it....easier to police, you say...and that GM wants it that way...I couldn't find anyone at GM that said that, and in fact, was told by John Fitzpatrick all dealers are free to do so, on any site. Then I was told that it actually brings up potential franchise contract violations, in which one dealer could in turn, sue another dealer for "interfering" with that other dealers customer. Which I guess makes sense, because if you have only one dealer doing it, then only one could suffer issues as a result of action taken by other dealers. Any time I tried to discuss this, I got the "quit arguing, it's not up for discussion, any more comments and BAN!" response....

any time you tried to "discuss" this with us, it wasnt a discussion on your part. You refused on multiple occasions to listen to what we were telling you. After you were warned privately by GTA (tho you seem to not recall this), you continued to participate. We are abiding by a request from GM in the manner in which we are utilizing the camarotracking. This, mixed with the site owners ruling is the route we follow.

Can you see why I might be a little timid to hand over some sponsor money? When you are the most expensive site on the web for a sponsorship, trust will need to be a two way street.
As I said before, if you dont want to be a sponsor, thats fine. But dont try to martyr yourself by saying that you cant stay here and help (or just stay here as a regular member) without violating the rules. If you are truly what you say you are (a camaro enthusiast, and more than just a car salesman), then you should have no problem staying here and being able to participate in our threads and discussions without trying to sell cars.

Trust is a two way street.

However, trust is hard to come by when someone goes to numerous other websites and blasts/flames ours.

Like I said in an earlier post, I'm not gone....Just transparent. Thanks.

Transparent doesnt begin to cover it.
