iPhone 4 announced

Yay for a new iPhone but I refuse to switch to AT&T so I will be buying the new Droid Xtreme later this summer. I know alot of people were hoping for a Verizon iPhone and will now be getting a Droid phone. They need to hurry up and make a deal before they loose some customer base to the Android platform.

They're contracted through 2011 with AT&T, so my guess is they are going to stick it out and not break for the remaining year. The WWDC2011 might have announcements of the iPhone 4S or something like that, available on other carriers towards the end of the year. It's also rumored that the contract actually lasts until 2012, so who knows.

I read that. But I aslo read that they are already making the phones that will be carried on the Verizon network. Who knows. It just blows.

Even if people go with the:

"droid-xtreme-chocolate-HTC-palm-treo-pre-centro-pearl-curve-touch diamond"

or whatever they're calling the "contender" this month. If the iPhone comes out on other carriers they'll switch to the iPhone. Badge Bunny said it perfect. Everybody was holding their breath but now they can't have the best "smart phone" in the universe. They're going to settle for something else. Well maybe she didn't say it exactly like that but you get what I'm saying.

I'd be happy even if it sucked here.... I got nextel now and I gotta stand on one foot and stick one finger in my ear to get a signal in my house.... AT&T couldn't get any worse. Its kinda funny, 3 years ago when the iPhone came out I still used a CD player and swore I'd never get an iPod or anything apple... lol, now I got a iTouch, an iMac computer, one of those new iPhone's as soon as they come out and I write iPhone and iPad apps for a living.... so much for staying away from apple...

I think the selling point of apples is their sleekness and..."nerd sex appeal"...as in even if you aren't a nerd you just look sophisticated using one. If windows/google/whatever based systems focused on fit, finish, and futuristic LOOKING (double underline) they might not be as big of a demand for apple products.

If you dial *639# on you're iPhone you can find out right now if you're eligible for an upgrade or it will give you the date you are.

I want one!! I have had my 3GS for one year exactly but I have a 2yr contract. I called that number and it said "As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2yr commitment and $18 upgrade fee" So does that mean all I would have to do is pay them $18 and buy the new iphone and get another 2yr contract and I am good? Or is it $18 more on top of the payment each month? I probably should just wait a little bit. Maybe they will come out with the 4 S or something in a year.

my brother in law just got hired for AT&T and i have had t-mobile for a year's and now he want's me to switch to AT&T. but after reading all the comments about all the drop calls it's making me think twice about it. is it worth going to AT&T for this phone i have a blackberry pearl for 2 years and no problems.
