Yea, I just HAD to make that joke.
My brother/sister-in-law came up with an idea for a flash drive to go along with your iPad called the iTamp.

Nevermind...I just found something

http://mashable.com/2010/01/27/apple-ipad-specs/

Here’s what we know so far:

Apple’s own 1 GHz Apple A4 chip
16 – 64 GB of Flash storage
Bluetooth 2.1
802.11n
10 hours of battery life
Speaker, microphone and 30-pin connector
Fully multi-touch
9.7 inch IPS LCD
Half an inch thick
Accelerometer and Compass

Anybody know if this is legit?

Has anybody come across this type of stuff? I did a google search but there didn't seem to be any specs yet.
So far what we know is it has Apple's own A4 processor (new) at 1GHZ. Its a 9.5" display. No word on graphics processing but according to views, the video for NFS:Shift racing was pretty smooth.

Don't think of this as a laptop or a netbook. Its a glorified iPod touch with some nifty new features.

Same here! Unfortunately iWant != iNeed

The more I think about it, the more I realize I don't need one. My iPod touch plays my music and video and is much more portable. My job keeps me at a desk all day so I'm not very mobile and wouldn't need the 3G one. And my recreational games are too 3D intense for this kind of hardware. So its just a desktop, iPod touch, and 3G blackberry for me.

Not to downplay the product though, this thing is revolutionary for people in the tech biz on the go. I just wish I was in that biz!

I don't think its a fail, but it is a severely niche item. Its for people that use their iphone for everything, including games, web browsing, documents, etc but need it bigger. Whats funny is that this device is best suited for the people that are reporting on it: Bloggers on the go!

What I see this as is a step in the next direction. CD players were still the normal medium of portable music until the iPod came out. Laptops are still the medium for mobile computing but soon everything will switch to touch screen, portability, and ease of use. I find it ironic that developers are working harder and harder to make things easier and easier.

Only thing I would use such a tablet device for is web browsing from the couch (have a desktop computer, dont need a laptop), and maybe some gaming on the go (simple games, not Crysis). Paying over $500 for that is out of the question for me.

Was actually starting to take interest in this.... till I read it doesn't allow you to multi-task Apple! Get with it!
