That said I love my Silverado, and I like the ‘24 refresh even more. The 6.6 gas with the Allison is a sweet combo. I’ve driven a couple of them now.

Was in a Ram 2500 last night for about 150 miles, it was really comfortable and the diesel doesn’t burn much fuel, I was sitting in the back.

I would rather put $50,000 into my SLT that I currently compared to buying a new one for 150,000

Personally I've always grown up a GM guy, but after having put 500k+ on Ford F series trucks over the last decade, I have to say that they have actually won me over. I've had to replace 1 transmission, a bunch of tires, brakes, a gear shift lever, a horn, and a set of clutch packs in a rear end over 4 trucks. All in all with the amount of abuse my trucks go through going in and out of mines, and regular 3,000+ mile months they've done very well.

Own a 2023 Ram mega cab diesel. No regrets. Getting 20-22 unloaded fuel economy.

I’d go with a Silverado 2500 crewcab ZR2
1500 ZR2 doesn’t come with a std bed and after having mine on my high country I really prefer it over the shorter bed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Serious question here, and I'm really being serious because I know it's gonna sound like some far off wacky question but I'm just curious........
Is there ANY way to convert a modern, brand new truck into a real 3 pedal manual transmission? I think right around 2008-2010 is the last years GM and Ford offered real sticks in their full sized V8s, maybe a little later for the diesels, and Ram last offered the 6 speed on the Cummins I think in 2018. But I would love a Silverado with the 6.2 and stick. Or how about the Ford F-250 with the 7.3 Liter and a 6 speed? I just think back to the last of the big block GM HD2500s from 2003-2007 with the 8.1 liter and the optional 6 speed. Those were beasts. I know modern automatics are great, and they can handle the towing and the hauling, and have so many different shift modes and overrides and capabilities..... but just like the enjoyment of driving a Camaro SS 6 speed is for the fun of a sports car, rowing the gears of a big truck can be just as fun.

Well I would never buy one to be honest because I just really don't have a need for one.... I'd be more inclined to buy a SUV for winter time/bad weather days...
That said, it would emphatically be a TRX at this current moment in time, and if not that, I'd probably be looking at a Durango Hellcat... I honestly would want something fun to play in the snow and perhaps a bit of mud.... not interested in Jeeps or anything like that because most of them are too cramped to sit comfy in.

Honestly? I wouldn't buy a new Truck because I love the older styles, the new styles are kinda just a square Box Truck.
I still got my 2011 Silverado LTZ (lowered) and love it. |

I had a 2010, it was nice but my 2019 is leaps and bounds a better overall truck. The 6.2 power in the newer ones blow the GMT900s away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The new (upcoming) Ram hybrid looks great to me. I wish they would get rid of the silly Ram name and go back to Dodge.
