I still think with the technology available now it should be better. I just used the MPG ad ONE example of why I wouldn't consider a Chrysler product. Build quality is not very good, the reliability is not very good and worst of all is their dealers, some of the most dishonest I have ever run across. These are personal observations by myself, and may not reflect what surveys say, but I go by my own experience, not by surveys. If I have bad experiences with a product or manufacturer I stay away if possible.

I wouldn't bother with the over-expensive Challenger, but I'd be all over the place. If they shitcanned the whole Camaro project now I'd be a little more focused and probably choose from the Gensis coupe, Charger, or Volt...

I will not buy another chrysler product the rest of my life. My first two cars were intrepids, and i had a ram. Transmission in my '96 intrepid was going out when i get blindsided. Then bought a real nice '99 intrepid with a f'n 2.7L in it
Lets just say it did the same thing all the rest do, threw a rod. Only 80k miles, and come to find out, that is twice as long as most. Not to mention Dodge/Chrysler doesn't stand behind there products worth a beans. My ram was nice, but did have some tranny problems with it. Just not impressed with their products at all. I loved my silverado, and i love my Grand Prix GTP. GM is the way to go.

I'd Actually drive a Mustang. I would hang myself before siting in a challenger.

Heres the big difference...chevy and ford didn't make a crappy engine like that. Also, it should be illegal to tell someone that has an engine under warranty that they didn't change there oil enough (even if they really did) and they arn't going to cover it, is a bunch of They are by far, imho, the worst of the american made cars, and will NEVER buy one again. Absolutely insane. Mine wasn't under warranty, so its not my personal grudge, but they way they treated others was... I do agree with buying an american made over a ricer!

I am currently out in New Mexico for the youth national equstrian games... and over the last 3 days i have seen 2 challengers.
the first, was a silver car which was sharp... but again, was far to large. the second however, was black. the sheer badassery of the black took the focus off the size. =) |

All 3 have their flaws and I am sorry you had trouble with your chrysler products but I have owned 3 and all dodges and had no problems. Maybe it was the chrysler /jeep products that are trouble but with dodge, I have'nt had any problems. |

After seeing the Challenger SRT I gotta say the Challenger R/T is fast moving up to the second choice spot, which is still held by the Pontiac G8 GT. Actually it's not as big as I'd thought they'd be. Now we all know that the Camaro comes in at 190.4Lx 75.5Wx 54.2H, The Challenger runs at 197.7Lx 75.7Wx 57.0H (Allpar.com)
The G8 GT comes in at 196.1Lx 74.8Wx 57.7H (Pontiac's site) |
