Without knowing what the real world 2015 Mustang performance will be how can one say that the next gen Camaro will "need a lot of help to compete with it" without knowing what is even in store for the next gen Camaro? Its like saying the 2020 Mustang can't compete with a 2016 Camaro, As I said its all in fun, I'm just poking ribs. I'm all for the competition between the two brands because it only benefits us the consumer. Its what brings us the Boss 302… 1Le... Zl1 and Gt500's. You guys need a chill pilll, I'm not trying to bash anyone here.

I don't see anything to be gained by Ford releasing the power #'s until the cars are on the lots so I would be surprised to hear anything before September

Yeah the way its going I wouldnt expect figures until we start seeing reviews popping up. Maybe Ford is done playing the hp/track times game.

The soon to be released price of the Hellcat has me more excited thanks this entire car.

Theyre clearly just holding numbers for marketing purposes.

I wouldnt be surprised if Ford lets the full book out on the 15 Mustang shortly after the HellCat is officially priced.

I really hope the 15GT is straight line quicker than the outgoing GTs and runs quicker laps than the Boss/1LE for that crowd. Not that I care, but the same old freaking argument from certain people about how it supposedly cant turn is beyond played out.

I expect handling to be improved. Just looking foward to seeing how much and if it can hang with a 1LE. The six piston Brembos as an option is awesome and should improve track times. It was disappointing though to see Ford claim a 200lb weight loss and see an 80lb weight gain.

This will be the first major accomplishment of the Hellcat when it hits the streets.

It was probably something like the C7 situation where the new chassis lost a lot of weight, which is what was originally "leaked/rumoured", but the added content overshot that loss and the net result was a slight gain. But the overall effect is a vastly improved car vs the previous generation.

So your telling me if the car makes 450 or 460 HP, you don't see any good reason to let out those numbers a little earlier?

I guarantee if the power is impressive, they'd see more pre-orders than they already have.

Would you say the same thing about the Hellcat? Would Dodge have nothing to gain by NOT releasing that magnificent HP figure until a few days before the car is actually available. That power figure has people going nuts.

Look, many of the diehards are already disappointed that the Mustang has gained weight. Ford should be saying something about the power. Tell the potential buys that the car makes XXX horsepower (which will make up for the weight) or that it DOES run the 1/4 mile even faster than the last car. SOMEthing!

I for one think it will likely be just as quick as the current car, but not a lot quicker, if it at all. I'd be shocked if it was slower in a straight line.

I think it will surely be a good handling car. Unfortunately most of the comparisons we'll see will be against the standard 2015 SS and probably not the 1LE, although i think a few of those will pop up as well. Hopefully I'm wrong and we'll see lots of throw downs between the 1LE and the Performance Package Mustang.

I can't really end this post without saying that I feel the Mustang is just kind of boring to look at. Its not exciting to me at all. Rear is kind of cool to look at straight on....otherwise no.

I think you guys need to prepare yourselves for some shockingly high numbers in power. Seriously.

Hope so. I wonder if they are making changes to it based on the hellcats announcement. Possibly trying to hit the 500 mark? That would be great!

I'm thinking they never intended to be less than 500 ponies.
