It's a body on frame? God bless GM. At least there will be one company that still builds a proper mid-size SUV.

Put in the new V6 from the Terrain, scrap the Traverse, and you got a winner.

Why? Because they're catering to a market that prefers the ride, handling, and fuel economy of car based crossovers over the towing, hauling, and off-roading capability of body-on-frame SUVs? Building what the majority want ... yup, stupid way to run a business. Much better to cater to each and every niche, spending billions to make millions.

Would it be nice to see a new TrailBlazer? Sure. But I honestly don't see there being a big enough pool of buyers in the US to justify it. What role would the TrailBlazer fill? People who really want/need the capability of an SUV will get a Tahoe or Suburban. The ones that care more about fuel economy will take an Equinox or Traverse. So the TrailBlazer buyer is looking for what, something that isn't terribly capable or efficient?

Not bad at all!

Fen...you hear any word on the new Tahoe they are supposed to design? It's, from what I've heard, supposed to look more like the Traverse (or maybe the Trailblazer??). If you hear anything, pm me!

I think you all think this vehicle is bigger than it is. Duramax Diesels? Me not think so.

And I have no idea where you guys (Spike, cough) are getting 30 mpg from an engine that doesn't exist or even one that does. Wow!

How does it cost "Billions" to take a vehicle that is already made and sell it to people? I think you have misplaced a decimal point or something.

Oh... I think I figured it out. You were talking about spending billions to make millions. You apparently confused this with the Volt topic.

I honestly don't know what's so "awesome" about this TB. Is it the body on frame? And those 2.5 and 2.8 engines (the gasoline versions) everyone on here crapped on. It looks like a 4Runner to me. Meh. I'd rather have a Durango, at least you can get Hemi power with it. And its better looking IMO.

I laugh at the fact that we are just now getting technology in gasoline engines from the factory that has been around for over a decade in the diesel world (turbo/superchargers stock, direct injection, etc).

its been a long time coming and we still aren't all the way there yet. Electric vehicles are a stopgap solution to a long term problem. As much as I like the Volt, even it is not good enough. I'd love to see a diesel Volt...hmmm....

Jeep recently announced the Cherokee will be available in the US with a V6 Diesel soon...Wrangler rumored to be next.

Those engines are COMPLETELY different than the Duramaxes in the TrailBlazer.

And diesel > Hemi. End of story.
