I already said that I'd rather have a ZR1. But I'd hardly consider running 7 psi or so 'cranking up the boost'. I wouldn't try running much more than that, but for what they're proposing, I wouldn't expect to hear about the engine destroying itself. This is only a 650 hp car, not 800 or 1000+.

A blown Z06 is fine for a weekend car but hard use will kill the engine and unsuitable for a high use car.
+1 The LS7 isnt as strong as a LS9 especially once you throw mods at it. If you can afford a ZR1 then by all mean's get it vs a modded Z06 and put a $100 pulley on the ZR1 and make an extra 90hp.

had a local person crack a sleeve in their ls7 with a vortech kit with a 3.8 pulley. that's what.... 6 psi?

The 11 Carbon comes with both. You can get everything the Carbon has on any '11 Z06 - except the painted to match side mirrors and the carbon hood. Oh, and any color - not just IOM & Blue

ZR1!!

Money no object? ZR1 without question. A twin turbo 1000+ hp Z06 is still a Z06. A ZR1 will always be a ZR1. How many people can claim they own the best Corvette ever built?

If you can afford it, the ZR1 is the way to go hands down. If you can't then the modded Z06 is the next best thing.

I'd like to see Edelbrock do an E-Force for the C5... they're pretty inexpensive now (Hooray depreciation!)
