No, it is not. As others have noted, GM, at one time, farmed out specific work to them to transform 4th Gen Camaros into an SS. Gen4 SS's were never considered "SLP" Camaros even though that's who did the conversion work behind the scenes for GM.

SVT, like SRT over in Mopar(Fiat?)land are the in-house teams that design and engineer the performance versions of Ford/Mopar vehicles. GM had such a group in the recent past, too, HPVO (High Performance Vehicle Operations) but that group got wacked early in 2009.

SLP today is a tuner/part company that offers not only SLP editions of Camaros, but also manufactures and sells parts for Mustangs and other modern muscle/ponycars, too.

So what are you trying to say?
I think he's trying to say that if Ford is aware that a 556HP Camaro weighing the same as the current SS is on the way as a 2012 model, it is highly unlikely that Ford is not already preparing to meet or exceed the challenge with the 2012 GT500.

Here's what is going on. They're attempting to get you to admit that you do not even own a Camaro even though you feature one in your signature. That along with your comments in defense/supporting the Mustang would therefore make you a Mustang-fanboy troll whose opinion should be completely ignored.

Am I on the mark guys?

I think the Camaro already looks outdated personally. I saw pictures of it for 4 years before it even hit the road.

Like I have said looks are subjective.

And if the sales continue for the Camaro it will become just as common as the mustangs.
I was making a point man.

Yes, more than a base GT, but a GT with brembos is only 700 more than a 1SS and it will outhandle and run with or outrun the SS. Not even enough difference to mention and besides the Camaro will see a price increase in 2011 so the gap will be pretty well closed, comparing 11 to 11 of course.....

Thanks, but its just a car you see 10 or 12 of on the road every day with many of them being driven by 17-18 year old girls. (On that note, if any of you guys happen to see a woman behind the wheel of a car that looks like mine in Tennessee, you should be warned that she's been known to frequent the dragstrip from time to time, too.)

Different circumstance GM contracted them to do that for the WS6 and SS. On the other hand, they also did their own vehicles like the Firehawk, Grand Prix GTX, Regal GSX, FORD RANGER THUNDERBOLT. None of these, like their new Camaro, are actual GM off the line cars. And not with parts contracted by GM. In other words, totally different beasts

WOuldn't effect this outcome at all since it's competitor would be the GT500.

That actually shows a great deal of care for that other car.

That's not appreciating what you have. My car isn't a brand new 2010 camaro SS that doesn't bother me. I don't long for horsepower or obsessed with beating another car becaue I love my car the way it is.

hope that made sense sorry it was a bit long.

You are happy with your car but the very reason you want to change it, is because OF ANOTHER CAR?

So what is it when you dislike a car so much that you register on its site and pretend to have one and then post all about how you like its direct competitor better?

Oh thats right, I think its called trolling. I mean havent you noticed youve done nothing but praise Ford and shit talk GM since you registered? It wasnt hard to figure out. Even the most clueless 4th gen SS owners know slp made the SS. You mean to tell me you know more about ford (a ton more) but you dont know about your own car? Sorry bro, Im not buying it. Ill paypal you $20 if you can get two pics, one pic of yourself infront of your car with a sign that says "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a D-bag or licks nuts" whatever tickles your fancy and one of the rpo sticker (legible) with the same sign next to it.

Oh and to again keep it on track. My predictions for 2011 SS are same motor same weight, different gear options for the SS to edge out the mustang 1/4 mile. Why work harder than you have to right?

Isn't the 2011 GT500 lighter than the SS by around 100 pounds AND gets bumped to 550HP? I really don't know how the Z28 could stay the same weight as the SS, The SC, intercooling piping, intercooler, etc are going to add 100 or so pounds right there.

I dont know man. I still love seeing 4th gen SS's on the road as much as I did since 1998. Given the z28 is kind of plain jane looking, just by changing the rims, hood and spoiler makes a world of difference for that car.

Thanks for the info!

And you are correct. Seems Unfair is more troll then anything, and has used someone else's car in his sig, while claiming to own a similar car.

Just to put this out there, even if GM gave the SS a 3.73 gear it would be closer, but still not quicker than the GT.
