I just talked to a guy Saturday night at a cruise that told me his 2010 r/t was pushing 425hp with his exhaust and cai. He was also picking up another 60hp with a chip. So until I see things with my own eyes I really don't believe much when it come to people telling me things.

I took some photos of his car. ...had 425 stickers from Walmart on the fender and hood. After his speech he asked what I had ..so I showed him. The cruise meet was just wrapping up. It's funny about 1/2 hour later I saw him on the street. I thought I would just like to see what this guy's about. As soon as he saw me he did a hard right up a side street and took off. It was just funny ...he was also leaning on people's cars. ..touching parts of the engines. I can't even say he was a nice guy that just didn't know any better. He was just a guy full of bs.

Well, which gt500 was he talking about? Depending on year they ranged from 500HP, 540hp, 550hp, and 662hp and I may have missed a few. Also through the years drive trains have changed.

Maybe he meant stock 5.4 gt500's? I could easily see that if he's running high 11's.

One good example of a fine tuned well setup 5.0 with a driver not afraid of breaking something while racing.

He's done all of the work on my 5.0 and has suggested many of the mods as well. Drew is a good guy and one of the most humble people I've ever met.

For those that cannot view the thread, his 2012 GT has the following mods:

AED Tune
E85 Gas
47LB Injectors (for E85)
Ported CobraJet Manifold
Super CobraJet Throttle Body
Custom Intake
Lethal O/R X-pipe
GT500 OTA pipes.
Bassani Axle Backs

Roughly 440-445 RWHP.

Suspension:

BMR K-Member
BMR Rad Support w/sway delete
Stock struts
BMR UCA Bracket
BMR Upper Control Arm
BMR LCA's
BMR Relocation Brackets
BMR Panhard
BMR Panhard Brace
Steeda Boss Springs
Spherical Housing bushings
Strange single way rear shocks
Full tilt boogie drag rotors front and rear
axle exchange driveshaft
2-post shifter bracket
JPC Clutch line
3.90 Gear.

Race weight - 3530 with 140LB driver and 1/2 tank of gas.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to post another alternative that sheds a little light on the doubt some car guys have for the 5.0's potential.

Keep in mind, his car was on stock headers. Headers on the 5.0 have good gains when combined with E85 or other race gases and that would have put him into the 10's on a stock motor 5.0 that was daily driven through all 4 seasons.

13/14 GT500's have dipped into the low 11's at 127+, I would think the bolt ons would need to be turbochargers to put up those #'s.

07-09 are a different story stock..
