I own a G8 GT and it is my daily driver. I have a little over 2,500 miles on it now and have only very minor complaints.

No problems with the center console lid...the glove box however is flimsy, but really...how often do you have to go in there?

yes...they are hard to turn, but once again don't you set it and forget it?

One of the few things I don't like about this car.

True, but apparently this is nothing new to some models of cars.

They are all SO minor that you do indeed not remember them when you're crushing a Mustang GT in a 4 door sedan. This car is the ultimate sleeper and is an amazing car, ESPECIALLY for the price. Compare it to a 5 series BMW for half the cost and it will measure up in almost everything.

I've been averaging combined mileage of about 18mpg. Most of my driving is in bad traffic to and from work (30 miles one way). I've only had one highway trip so far and I averaged 25.3 for the trip. It's a big improvement over my Sport Trac that I traded in, plus I've got some power under the hood!

Thanks for confirming most of the problems!

Your console lid must be better than the others

Seat adjusters - What if more than one size person drives the car? It must be adjusted everytime a new driver gets in.

AirBag light all the time

Turn signal level - personal preference

Piston slap Just Google this stuff! It's all there. (Piston slap at cold start-up is not harmful, just irratating)

I'll show you a a sh** load of cars with no orange peel for under $20,000 and good luck with that clay on a clear-coat finish

Remember - if it's not happening to you, that does not mean it does not exist.

To reiterate, I would already own a G8 GT if the Camaro wasn't coming.

I understand you wanting to defend your recent purchase. I want all these vehicles to be the best they can be and honest feedback will help with future improvements.

No winners or losers here. We all have to remember that there are case-by-case basises (what's plural for basis, anyway?) and exceptions to every rule...camaro5 presented a majority by searching, and Urthman counters that he is not one of those who noticed those problems. Cool! No need to argue (since it look slike it might become one).

Nice thoughts MerF, thanks.

I don't need to google it. I go to multiple times www.g8board.com every day. I know about every issue that people are having with their G8s and I've had a few as well. One that you didn't mention is a popping sound in the front right suspension. So far, no diagnosis on that one.

I just want to be clear, I'm not here to argue with anyone about whether this car is good or not. I love it, it's the best car I've ever owned (including my Z28). There are always minor issues with cars, especially first year models. My thought is this: do I really care about a flimsy glove box? No. Do I really care about ridiculously minor things? No. If I had major problems, or if ANYONE had major problems I would be concerned.

GM hit a home run with this vehicle and I see it as a huge step in the right direction for them. I can only hope that the Camaro is a grand slam. I would love to see GM take back the #1 seed, and I think they are well on their way to doing it. With the G8, the rave reviews of the 5th gen, the new Cadillac lineup, and the Acadia/Outlook/Enclave/Traverse I think they've done it.

Bravo to GM for making an amazing car for an amazing price.

To respond to your post...only the seat BACK has the annoying manual adjuster, all other adjustments are electronic and easy to manipulate...there's nothing wrong with clay bars on a clear coat finish if it is done properly...and I too wanted to wait for the Camaro but decided I needed to replace my truck sooner rather than later and wanted the convenience of 4 doors since I have kids.

I'm not here to argue, I'm just saying...don't knock it 'till you try it.

I didn't have many complaints about the car, but all i was looking for was a blistering fast 4-door performance sedan that looks bada$$ and can get it for 30 grand,,,,, maybe i wasn't paying much attention to the interior.
