Then I'd just go and buy a new Camaro, like I'm planning!! Wow...the garage that housed those two cars would be hallowed ground...

...then again, with the new Camaro in it...it will be anyway!

or...maybe sell the ZR1...pick up a Z06...AND a top-level Camaro...and still be able to mod them a bit...

Thats still being thrown around as well, as far as I know.

They're thinking:

Base v6

TTv6
|
(These two are expected to be similar in price, you either get decent power and 'good' mileage, or 'great' (ford) power and not so good mileage)
|
5.0 v8

Personally, if I HAD to buy a mustang I'd buy the ttv6, simply because it very well could be the 'American supra' as some of the guys on the stang forums are claiming.

Wow, good one. Well, sell it and get the Top Dog Camaro. I wouldn't sell it right away though.. max a week! My friends try to get me with "what if's" with my Camaro.

Like what if you could have Jessica Simpson or the 5th Gen Top Dog Camaro. I would smirk and reply, Jessica, cuz rich celeb girls buy their men hot cars and mine would happen to be the Top Dog Camaro.

Dude I'm as loyal as loyal can be when it comes to cars, but if this car existed, my a$$ would be driving it. Actually, I'd buy a couple.

omg dont forget that thing they call a dodge

how bout the challenger. Sadly saying from seeing then specs for the model coming out it will have higher horses from base up. Lets hope dodge hasnt learned anything and thier trannies drop under the pressure again or gm mite have to bring the trans am back to compete muscle with muscle.

oh the challenger wont be anything to worry about. the $40k SRT8 is putting out 425hp but weighs and incredible 4140 lbs.! the base V8 R/T will have the 5.7L "HEMI" that only puts out 370hp. the power to wight is no better than current mustangs. so again, I'm not worried.

well, if this happens then there isn't much chance that we will see the L76 in the Camaro. It could very well be the LS3. detuned it still tops that 5.0.

The general has alot of soldiers in its army to call to a fight. They can pretty much drop any V8 into any bay designed for a v8.

I agree with DGthe3 - The General has options out the waazoo. They have something that should keep the car at least on par, and a little better than Ford, so I'm not worried. Their powertrain engineers don't mess around.

Throw in small displacement gen V (DI,vvt etc) with 401 HP. Later just add turbochargers . I wouldn't be suprised if Ford top version offer some v8 with twin turbo.
I'm curious if GM has any plans on using turbochargers on v8 gasoline v8 engine. I've read rumors about ls9 that was tested with turbochargers before GM went with supercharger(something about prototype caught fire )

Not rumors. The initial idea was to use Turbos for the ZR-1. But that ended in (as Bob Lutz would put it) "a thermal event." So they switched over to Superchargers, with a much better result. It's also said that the new Eaton blowers are as efficient as Turbos. Wow.
