well, in this story, Prometheus (the ship) took the humans to the fire, where the gods (the beings that created the obelisks, humans, predators, and aliens) kept them on the planet and unleashed the aliens on them to eat their livers every day.

Almost correct. The ship name was "Proteus".
Lost In Space is also a very good Sci-Fi movie in my opinion.
