Subaru Impreza or Outback.
They are extremely dependable and reliable vehicles to own and daily drive. If you can swing it purchase a 02-07 Subaru Impreza WRX they are very dependable and fun cars to drive everyday. I had a five speed 03 Subaru Impreza WRX that I got 311K miles out of before I traded it in and it still ran great. |

Just purchased a 2011 Legacy and second the Subaru offers. Take a look, you'll get great mileage and they're pretty nice cars as well.

+1 on pickups not being great in snow. Have you looked at the forester xt? Fantastic in snow, minor mods and it will be very fun to drive, can haul a lot of junk. . .
![]() Also look at the magnum if you can handle the looks. There is an awd model and it's a pretty fun car to drive for having so much space. ![]() The wrangler is a good vehicle for a purpose, but as a daily driver it's very uncomfortable imo. Last edited by 8cd03gro; 06-04-2011 at 05:00 PM. |

I don't get the N.American obsession with trucks/SUVs. They are as fun to drive as mini-vans, and less comfortable. IMO, guys like to get them because they look "better" than mini-vans, but really they drive just as badly. The ONLY reason to get a Wrangler type car is if you actually take it off-roading. When in doubt - always get a driver's car. Subaru WRX is that car. ps. my first car was a Jeep Cherokee, so I'm not brand-biased - just logical. I never actually took it off-road and I came to my senses. |

![]() Wrangler freaking SUCK for everyday driving. They are great if you want to build a 4 wheeler but the total opposite of what makes a good daily driver. Pick anything other then a Wrangler. Heck go test drive a used one with a soft top. ![]() There was some good Wrangler talk in this thread below Soccer dad WAR: CTS-V wagon vs Grand Cherokee SRT-8 |
