it was not a issue of being able to afford it. i didnt owe much on it, and i really did like the car. i just could not justify it sitting in the garage not being driven because it hurt to drive it.

So because of a bad back, you traded your Camaro with IRS on a body on frame old school SUV?? Why not a Traverse or crossover with a comfortable smooth ride?

For you, and for your situation, it sounds like you made a good and wise choice. BTW, your view of the mountains is priceless....enjoy.

Dad's got a 03 Avalanche Z-71, rides smoother than both of my cars.

I DROVE THE TRAVERSE AND I WAS READY TO BUY IT, THEN I DROVE THE TAHOE FULY LOADED WITH EVERYTHING AND IT DROVE AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THE TRAVERSE. IT DROVE BETTER THAN MY SILVERADO, AND CAMARO.

Wow... Have you ever driven/riden in a Tahoe? The ride is nicer than the Camaro's and Traverse's, and it's far from old school. I have no idea where you got all of this from, but it's completely inaccurate ^^.

The Denali is almost as sweet as the CTS.

doesn't sound like you are hard up, just into older cars. If I had the space & $, I'd have a '69 RS as well..
As far as ride quality goes, look into test driving an LS(you may be pleasantly surprised)...

I love how people immediatly go to giving him crap about gas prices. He has stated HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE ECONOMY OF THE TAHOE! He got rid of the Camaro b/c IT HURT HIS BACK and DIDNT DRIVE IT.

Some of you need to give the guy a break.

OP>>> Nice move, seems like you did what makes you happy. Enjoy the 69s and the 'Ho!
