Except the people you rear end.
A couple years ago I got rear ended at a light. Just a light bang to the hitch on my truck. I get out, and this lady steps out of her SUV and pops her heals on. So, you were driving barefoot? She then explained how she couldn't drive with her heals, so took them off and said the brake pedal was a bit slippery in her nylons. End result was she got an at-fault accident ticket.

I appreciate attractive feet, relatively hard to come by. However, it is not make or break..lol. Socks are the great equalizer.
Say you weren't curious...go ahead...lie to all of us!

I believe Michigan has a law against driving without protection on your feet. And no, I'm not talking about cond.....
Its not safe to drive without shoes. Stones get caught on the peddles. But I would still like to see the above shoes on a foot.... M |

As far as I know, there are no laws that require you to wear shoes while driving a vehicle. However, you could be cited for wreckless driving if it's found that your barefeet caused the accident or contributed to it.
In all cases, it's never smart or wise to drive a vehicle without shoes on your feet. For one, if you ever needed to exit the vehicle in a hurry due to an accident, your feet could be severely injured due to glass, liquids, and of course electrical/fire issues. Also, the fact that your shoes offer you better grip than your feet can in a lot of cases may also assist you in escaping your vehicle. There's also the chance you need to kick out a window. The best advice I can give is just to wear a pair of running shoes that can be easily slipped on or off in the car when wearing nice/rarely worn shoes. Even I do that when I wear dress shoes, as it doesn't feel the same as it does with my tennis shoes/work boots.
