Yeah... and worse case scenario, I can always wait till the 2011 MY. I mean, the wait will be excruciating, but... there are actually a lot of reasons to wait.
A) There will be far fewer "bugs" to put it in computer terms (I work in IT, not automotive repair). Not saying the QC on this car is low, but that it is so good they will find little complaints in the first year that nobody would care about on a normal car. B) Honestly, I'm a fan of even numbers. My old camaro was a 1986. Resurrecting it 25 years after it was originally built seems better to me than bringing it back 24 years after. C) I may actually be able to afford it by the end of the 2011 MY run, simply by virtue of having a higher paying job by then. D) I may win the lottery between now and then. E) I'm just making crap up now. Anyway... Yeah, my 86 has factored a lot into my decisions about this car. It was black/silver with a gray interior. It will come back as silver/black with a gray interior. I'll be using the 1LT wheels because they look like the old IROC wheels. I'm going to do the same accent painting on them, but in black instead of gray. I'm even getting the V6 because of that car and the way it drove. Now, I know, you're going to say "WOAH! Wait! That car had a V8!" I'm well aware of that. But it had a 305. And not even a very powerful one. But I swapped in a high lift cam to make lots of compression and revved the p*** out of it. Thats how I made power - and a good bit of it too. I could give stock LT1s a really good race, which was amazing considering that it had 145 HP stock. It handled like it was on rails (the IROCs were all like that though). Well, think about it. The new V6 is a lower displacement engine that makes power using high CR and high revs. Sounds like my 86. Who cares about the other two cylinders? And CCs/Cylinder is about the same also. 600 for the LLT, 625 for my 86. Plus, the V6 is lighter than the SS. And once I trim the weight down a bit and send it to Pedders... well, you get the idea. Its about 50% plan and 50% dream right now, but it will happen some day. If I have to buy a 2011 used, I will. I'd rather order it and have it be one owner, but I will do what needs to be done to get the car that I want. Its just that keeping the faith is harder than it looks. I sympathize with you, Pink. I really do. My pain is nothing to yours - its the result of my situation, not just the cruel turn of the dice. Your car will come though. - Xanthos

Alright people, I need to stay away from everything else on this forum besides off topics, because the more i read about people getting their cars, the more depressed i get. I should be happy for these people, but I'm just starting to get angry.
How is it that someone with a VIN in the 12,000 + and was built nearly 2 weeks after mine got their car before me??? I just don't get it. I'm so freaking discouraged and frusterated. I shoulda bought the vette, and honestly i'd rather be driving ANYTHING than that truck... (yes i said ANYTHING) ughhhhhhh!!!! /end rant.
