the numbers for dimensions on the ATS jsut seem so deceiving to me. The interior specs especially. They tell me the car has more than adequate room on the inside, but when I sat in one at the auto show, I felt extremely cramped in it. Im not exactly a small guy, but im no giant either but the ATS felt incredibly small to me

the ATS isn't a big car, however if I were buying a new Camaro that's the size I would like it to be.

I don't think this is realistic. In both cases I'm talking about a V8 equipped version. 4 cylinder turbo/ 6 cylinder should hopefully be less.

I will say it is more important to satisfy the non-enthusiast as far as expectations of overall size/interior space are concerned. Look at the FR-S/Subaru twins, they listened closely to enthusiasts, kept the price, size, and weight low, but have failed to generate much in the way of sales.

have you ever parked next to a 1st gen? It is tiny in comparison. It's also why I kinda consider the 5th gen more of a modern muscle car rather than a pony car. 1st gen Camaro's and Mustang's as well as maybe 4th gen Camaro's and Mustang's are true Pony cars in my mind.

The 69 is everything 1st Gen but hey, that's your opinion! But the first Gen is 3 years!

Right, and in 2 of those 3 years was 67-68. Bottom line is you said first gen was the same size to a 5th gen. The statement is false and if you have ever been next to one at a car show or meet like I have you would see that it looks like a compact in comparison.
