My biggest fear would have been if someone had put drugs in my car unknowing to me.

I don't know anyone who does drugs but I have kids at the house all the time that I don't know.

I've heard of it happening. And KNOW it happened to a guy in our company in a loner rig when I drove trucks.

I know your pain...lol...I was recently detained by two Dallas police officers at the local AT&T store. Like you, I was ultimately released because I hadn't done a frickin' thing but it was 25 minutes of public humiliation that I won't soon forget.

Perhaps I should clarify, too. I'm not suggesting that a potential stolen vehicle shouldn't be pulled over and looked into. I just think that in this particular case, detaining someone may have been a bit more than what was necessary, although I do see some valid points in your explanation of it now that you put it up.

I sort of started to say some of that in another post....but in not quite such a nice way....before going on and saying a few more things that in retrospect also didn't come out quite right, and were a bit more than what was necessary on my own part. So for anyone who may have seen and were offended by that before it was deleted it, I apologize.

I apologize as well. My fault, though. But I'm very glad we're all good.

and in this situation what they did makes sense, I just know if my car was stolen I wouldn't want them pulling every camaro over and incarcerating the owners simply to find mine.

We just have a growing police state in this country, government using revenue collected by exploiting low speed limits to buy speed and traffic cameras that auto-ticket you etc. I didn't have any way to word that without it sounding like I'm attacking law enforcement.. and that's certainly not what I want to do, I respect cops that protect and serve and would have been fully compliant in this situation.

I hate red light cameras. Over here, police don't run them. They are owned by private companies...and they have power and control over enforcing laws through civil means...which I don't agree with at all. There have been dozens of stories where cameras were going off early. People were forced to pay for something they didn't do. Sure, it can help to reduce the amount of accidents at an intersection. But, who are they to say I need to pay money for something that maybe someone else did in my car? Ticket goes to the registered owner...not the unknown driver.

Anyway, I totally understand and agree. And I'm glad that we can go back and forth respectfully.
