what was your first camaro and how old were you when you bought it? - Page 10

Brand spankin new '69 bought one week before I got married the first time. The dealer I bought it from just went out of business a month ago after 40 years of operation.

if all goes right, my first Camaro will be sometime next year. i'll be 23. mom had a new '84 Z28, she said i loved it, but i was 2 when she sold it, so i don't remember

I bought a plain jane '69 in 1987 for $1400. It was all numbers matching with a 350 and 350 auto. I was 17 (and dumb) at the time and instead of taking it back to the original olympic gold and white vinyl top, I had it painted red with black rally stripes. It sure looked good, but if I still had it today it would go back to the original paint scheme. Unfortunately, I sold it in '93 for $7500. Pretty good profit at the time, but wish I still had it. Haven't had a Camaro since, but still have recurring dreams of a '68 Z/28 RS someday.

I bought a 68 Coupe in 1990 when I was 19. I saw it sitting on a used car lot and I knew it had to come home with me! I looked at the car and it had everything I wanted, 327, deluxe houndstooth interior, floor console w/guages...but it was a Turbo 350 Auto. I decided that I could live with that. I put down $200 and called my Dad. Dad called Mom who sent him to talk me out of it. He showed up, took one look at the car and wrote a check for $2700 so we could take the car home. I knew I could get a loan for the $$, I had been working at the same job for 3 yrs, but Mom was ticked at Dad for forking out the cash...until she sat in the car! She has been hooked ever since! I still have the car, although now it is in pieces in the garage waiting for my wonderful husband to put it back together!! But since it is not done, I will be thrilled to drive a new 2010 instead!

My First Camaro was an 87 IROC Z.... it fell apart on the way home (I got it for $1k). Previously I had an 87 TA. After the IROC got dumped (18 hours later) I picked up an 86 Camaro V6. It looked like someone hit a tree head on with it. But it ran good and it was clean. I drove it as my main car and my backup car for 2 years then gave it to my sister who drove it for 2 more years when I picked up a 91 Firebird. (My main car was an 89 TTA, hehe).

My first camaro was an 86' IROC-Z Automatic 305. With a set of 4:11 gears, cam, heads and headers, I was moving along the track pretty good. Made for a damn good bracket racer. It needed body work so we painted it we chose the color "arrest me red". I guess the closest example of that is fire truck red. Last thing done to it was the interior, we replaced the carpet, but the engine started to act up. My brother took the car over, and we finally found a matching seat interior for it. Thinking about a new engine right now. I can only hope, I would love to see that car on the move again. One of these days my brother will take some pics of the car and I will post them up.

my first and only was a 1984 z28HO. Bought it when Iwas 21 only had it for 7months. Way to fast for my age, put 12000 miles on it. Used to borrow my sisters 1979Z28 when I was 17. I am so stoked about this car. cyber gray 2ss short shift.

My 1st camaro is the one i have right now i got it when i was 16. T-tops,red, small wing (not a ricer wing), flowmaster exhuast, some performance spark plugs, k&n filter, 2 tone red and black leather seats, jvc head unit, 10" pioneer sub (weak and old), ss hood (if you can't beat e'm look like e'm!), approx 220hp

AND IM LOVIN IT!

1969 Camaro and I was 21 Black with a little gold in it with a 350 4speed.
2010 Camaro and I will be 52 IOM 2LT RS with IOM interior and chome wheels

I believe I was 19 when I bought this BLACK BEAUTY off of a buddy I was in the military with. The car was only 5 yeras old, and I got it for $4,200. That is all the dealer was going to give him for a trade in on the corvette he was buying. SO, he asked me if I wanted it for that price

OH yeah, 35 now when I get my 2SS BLACK 6speed....I turn 35 on the 17th.....
