look, the new 6.4liter challenger addresses some issues. but and i say BUT...

Fiat owns it. they bought a failed company. they will turn it around, but not with 6.4 liter engines. the company WILL be europeanized. it is a fact of life.

just look back to AMC and see what happens to failed US car companies. AMC was selling renault LE'cars. eagle was selling jap cars. sorry chrysler. its the same for you. it will take time.

If the report is true, expect a much smaller Chrysler brand lineup than the one we have today today. A redesigned Chrysler Town & Country minivan and 300C – a grand total of three models for Chrysler. That’s a pretty bold move, especially considering the fact that there has been previous reports about the next-generation Sebring platform being developed for use by other Fiat brands.
Dodge sees the Caliber, Nitro, Avenger and Dodge Grand Caravan cut, with the Charger, Challenger, Journey and Ram trucks remaining. In other words, the good products. Fiat isn’t messing around! Jeep gets pared down to only two models – Wrangler and Grand Cherokee.
It sounds as if Fiat really plans for Alfa Romeo to be the centerpiece of it’s U.S efforts. The Wall Street Journal reports that, contrary to what has been heard recently, both the MiTo hatchback and Milano (147 replacement) are coming to the U.S, along with an “unnamed mid-size sedan.” It’s unclear if this is the whole story on what to expect – regardless, we should be hearing official word about the future of these brands soon.

It is not an opinion. It is a rumor.

I am admitting that it is an unsubstantiated rumor that should not be believed without offical word.

The same goes for a V10 Challenger.

Fiat-run Chrysler Group LLC wants the bulb-shaped 500 to become a contender in the U.S. small-car market, where the Detroit automaker has struggled for years. The car will be sold by about 165 Chrysler Group dealers in 125 markets (mainly big cities) starting in December.

Dealers have until Sept. 22 to apply for Fiat franchises. Chrysler said it will select dealers in the fourth quarter. The car will come in standard, convertible, high-performance and electric versions.

''Our dealers will be able to interact with a group of individuals that are not part of their current customer base,'' said Laura Soave, a former Ford and Volkswagen executive who is now head of the Fiat brand in North America. ''These are individuals interested in Italian automotive design coupled with fuel-efficient technology.''

Dealers chosen for Fiat dealerships will also get the first crack at selling Alfa Romeos when that brand returns to the United States in 2012.

what in the world are you talking about. no one is debating that. we are calling out a troll who says as a FACT that chrysler is done, doesnt back it up. then says as a FACT that a 1.3l challenger is on its way.

of course the lineup is going to be cut down, it is one of the main problems with all 3 american companies. it's a good thing, dont try to spin it as a bad one.

god this thread is more fail than snuggies.

I made no rumors and gave no opinions. There is no way for Chrysler to survive without free government money.

There will be no V10 Challenger period.

GM seems to have figured out how to turn it around using the Govt's nickel and will be paying back Uncle Sam. To what extent they get paid back remains to be seen... the same could be true for Chrysler.

No one has a crystal ball with the answer but time will tell.

Oh, when I saw the thread title I thought Chrysler was now adding alcohol to the lineup to make them faster! At least they are in Michigan assembly plants apparently.

I'll admit I skipped over this last 130+ replies because of all the bickering so please forgive me for this question.

Has there been any quotes or links to this contact stating that this is a go?

Reason why I ask is with all my searching, the only mentioning by Chrysler I can find is from 2 years ago in a press release at a car show stating that the V10 Challenger is for show purposes only and will not go into production. So is this a go or does this still stand?
