Hi from Vermont
Hello,
I joined the group because Santa presented me with this bodacious Christmas present. I have been reading and gaining a lot of valuable information about it on this forum and thought that it would be a good thing to join. My Christmas present is a 2014 Camaro SS, 6 spd., 2ss, Crystal red tintcoat, that I call an "RS minus" (hence my name) rightly or wrongly since I have everything except the HID headlights on this car. Actually, the only options on it are the color and the sun roof. She is a dandy!!! Unfortunately, living in Vermont makes this car a 3 season vehicle that will be re-introduced to the highway on or about 1 April (about the same time I put my bikes on the road). Right now she is sitting on a set of flat stoppers with a battery maintainer connected and with a cover over it. I check on her once a week to admire the lines of the car and the color and marvel about owning something like this. This car is my mid-life crisis plus about thirty years. Too many years in Uncle Sam's Army, rotations, raising a family, and not enough money to begin to justify owning a toy like this. I do have one question for some of the senior members of this forum - What is the significance of all of the Warrant Officer ranks displayed under your names? Just an old retired CWO wondering. |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
![]() oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Welcome to the Forums!! I lived in VT during college and I'm pretty sure the condition of the roads there make your Camaro a 0 Season vehicle lol. Hell it killed my last vehicle thats why when I left I bought my camaro haha

WELCOME!!! Post some pics.
Thank-you for the welcome. Regarding the above message, the car is presently sitting in a dark corner in a former machine shop waiting for spring. Will post pictures when I can get it out of the building since the ice and snow has begun to pile up around the building. |

What do you mean our roads are bad?
I have to admit that after a winter with the amount of road salt used to protect the out-of-state skiers, the roads take a beating. But, after hurricane Irene finished with the state, a substantial number of roads had to be completely rebuilt. They are in a heck of lot better shape that they were. By the way, I used to live and work in Rochester (back when Lyndon Johnson was president) at the corner of Ridge Road and Lake Avenue. I don't suppose that Kodak is the employer it was back in those day. Married a Vermonter and ended up here in the "little green hills state".

Air Cav? Hoo-AAhhhh! I would like to thank-you also for your service. My regimental affiliation is Engineers. Started out as a heavy equipment mechanic, after a few years was accepted into the one year (+) long Army Nuclear Power Plant Operators course at Ft. Belvoir. Graduated in time to see the only operating plant left (located at Gatun Lake, Panama) shut down and brought back to the States. Promotion opportunities SUCKED due to the MOS being top heavy in rank. Was going to ETS but had the 2nd most senior Engineer CW4 in the Army convince me to apply for Warrant. Was appointed WO-1 in 1979 and retired as CW3 in 1990. I've been retired longer than the 21 years of active duty I put in. I am amazed and in disbelief at how fast the time has passed. As they say, "you only go around once" so I'm trying to enjoy a few more toys, like this Camaro SS
, before age and infirmity put me in something a lot slower, like a rocking chair!!! Best to you,Roy |
