I remember people going back and forth on the internet in 1970 when the 2nd Gen came out. Some hated the 2nd gen while others loved it.

Lol, I want to believe this is trolling. Either that, or somebody's been sleeping under a rock for 2+ years and didn't know the 6th gen was out.

Mod should probably close this thread as it serves no purpose really.

I wonder how long he was browsing Camaro6 looking for Camaro5 material.

I've heard the "I see more 5th gens than 6th gens so therefore 5th gen is more superior" straw man before.

The 5th gen ran an entire model generation (5 years [first deliveries were spring 2009]), The 6th gen isn't even in it's full 2nd year. So of course you'll see more of a car that sold for 5 model years and became significantly more affordable than a car that's only been out for 18 months now.

This is true....there is no possible way to end up here by accident. This is one of the more odd threads ive seen in a while. This is trolling 101. I should check Camaro 5 and see if he popped up there as well.

Lol this thread is ridiculous, clueless OP got his answer. Can't we all just get along?

Also, are people really getting salty over insignificant criticism?

The only problem I had with the second gen was the lack of a factory cowl hood/hood scoop on the early Camaro Z28's. Yes, they finally got one in '78, but the '70-'73 Z28's looked kind of plain without a hood scoop. Perhaps they were trying to make it more subtle after the excess of the 1st gens, more european.

I think GM should've designed some type of cowl induction hood for the early Z28's. The '70-'72 SS's got even more plain looking during the 2nd gen too. Almost as if they were trying to downplay that model option.

Beautiful cars though and looked very modern back then with their single piece side windows and flush mounted side glass.

The 5th gen was a hastily put together project thrown on an antiquated Holden Monaro/Pontiac G8 chassis with the cheapest and most quickly produced interior plastics simply to get the Camaro back on the streets. I was a camaro5 member since the moment Rick Wagoner announced the return of the Camaro in 2006, but when the final product arrived I was less than impressed. I knew the next generation would be far superior. So I held on to my old car and waited. It served it's purpose but it was dated the second the first one rolled off the line.

Hence my join date and number of posts.

The 6th gen is a better BMW than BMW with American DNA. 'Nuff said.

Unless you were in some computer club in a university in 1970, you wouldn't have had access to the precursor of the internet. I can imagine people going back and forth on newsgroups and bulletin boards in the 80s though. Lol.

No no, I see now. The issue is the fact that when you get a message, the email from the forum links you only to Camaro6.com.
