Probably converting from Euro
Hey everyone, honestly didn't think I would convert. I have been a life long European car guy owned everything from a BMW E30 to a 2007 335i, which is fast as heck, and rivals American muscle for mod $ per horsepower. Also an 2007 Audi S4 one of my favorite cars of all time due to handling but the 4.2 V8 is a dud (eats the cylinder coating and timing chain issues) to most recently a BMW 340i Track pack. The 340 is just too luxurious even fully spec'd out with M sport and track pack. And many other cars in between but honestly never dabbled in American cars. Not a hater but historically they didn't drive as well as the German cars and the interiors were meh.
I'm really happy that all the American manufactures have gotten their act together in the past few years. I'm dumping the 340 as I feel BMW has lost their way. Drove a 2SS with Magnetic ride control and it BLOWS the new M3/M4 out of the water. I have considerable seat time in the new M's and they have gotten way too "soft". I'm excited to join you guys and jump in to this new world for me. If any of you ever need help with a BMW I have the full factory diagnostics system/ wiring diagrams anything you could need. Just let me know. Closing in on a 1LE and couldn't be more excited. Local dealer is trying to ship one in as I don't want to wait 6-8 weeks so fingers crossed! I would order with Becky but I have a trade in I don't want to lug a 1/3 of the way across the country. |

Welcome
![]() My automotive shop used to specialize in Euro import cars, but with the new modern muscle cars they are hard to beat. I knew I wanted my SS the first time I sat in it. ![]()

I switched to a Camaro from a 335i and that car was amazing with the jb4 tune.

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
![]() oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

I don't think you need to take sides when it comes to cars. I have a 2003 BMW Z4 and a Camaro! Best of both worlds. Both are amazing on and off the track. I do agree that modern BMWs have started losing their way. Too much going on in the cabin, which is why I love my Z4- everything is manual except for the mirrors and it has no screens or anything distracting inside.

Love the post, but Euro cars come nowhere near American cars in terms of $ per hp lol
