Urban spoke out to calm down the Gator Nation and the Alum. It wasn't a stab at Kiffin, and it wasn't him running his mouth. The UF fans were expecting a slaughter, and he wanted to explain why it wasn't so.

Honestly if you knew anything about football you'd know there is nothing good from a competitive perspective that could come from this. It was probably a tough choice to make releasing to the public that we didn't run much on them.

Ps. Monte's D would have given up 30-40pts had we not had goal line fumbles and dropped en-zone balls.... Even with our Hellen Keller offensive set.

Umm his comments were that they didn't play good because they were sick and he whined about the Vols offense keeping the ball for too long. How does that hurt his team from a competitive perspective? Try to put your homerism aside for just a minute why don't ya. I don't know how that couldn't be taken as a jab at the game plan and play calling of Tennessee. College Football Live pretty much said the same exact things I'm saying so it's not exactly like I'm way out on a limb here.

Why the hell do you have to always say stupid ass shit like "if you knew anything about football"? Oh wait... because you're a typical arrogant Gator fan.

P.S. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Gators only had 1 turnover while the Vols had two so I don't know how you can even claim "goal line fumbles" as a reason for losing the game.

And seriously, get off this crap about the Gators not playing many offensive sets. It's tired. Might want to think of some new excuses for when you lay that first egg.

I fully agree with you and ESPN and College Game Day Live...and the rest of the sports world even some of those in the Gator Nation..Urban took a shot and was making excuses....Now what I dont agree with is the language you used to express yourself...now if you were defending the bulldogs that would be different...lol..let's not try and get to heated in here

Because it would benefit us if all our opponents actually believed that we are as easy to stop as it looked like on Saturday.

Try to put your homerism ? aside for just a minute why don't ya. I don't know how that couldn't be taken as a jab at the game plan and play calling of Tennessee. College Football Live pretty much said the same exact things I'm saying so it's not exactly like I'm way out on a limb here.

They said what?

Did I hurt your feelings? I'm responding to you and your ignorant comment.

P.S. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Gators only had 1 turnover while the Vols had two so I don't know how you can even claim "goal line fumbles" as a reason for losing the game.

1st. We didn't loose the game. 2nd. Did you watch it? 2 passes dropped in the enzone and a fumble on the two yard line. Thats 21 pts that we didnt put up. Put up those 21 and see if we beat the spread.

And seriously, get off this crap about the Gators not playing many offensive sets. It's tired. Might want to think of some new excuses for when you lay that first egg.

Listen, I know a shit ton about Florida football. I said the night after the game that we didn't run any sets. Then the head coach of the program comes out the next day, and confirms what I said.

And If I ever need a goose egg excuse, i'll borrow one from the UCF Archive. You guys should have tons by now...

Yup, and when they're gone, OU can steal the NC.

LOL. Hurt my feelings? Please.

"It's better for Kiffin than for Meyer. The reason is that when Kiffin popped off during the offseason and accused Meyer of cheating, Meyer refused to take the bait, refused to engage in trash talk. But when FL failed to put a punishing beatdown on the Volunteers in the game, Meyer DID start to trash talk. And it's not even good trash talk. I mean he accused... Lane Kiffin... of holding down the score... of Florda's offense?!?! Yeeaaaahhhhh..... You know if you've got Jonathan Crompton at QB and you're Tennessee you don't want to get into a shootout with Tim Tebow. It seems to me that Urban Meyer is much more bothered by the fact that he didn't put a big huge score on TN than being bothered by being accused of cheating and that makes no sense whatsoever."

Yea... I actually transcribed the comments for ya. Maybe now you can understand how "out there" your thinking is? But I'm sure you'll just say the ESPN guy is an idiot too.

I only watched parts of the game as I was out tailgating. But you said there were goal-line fumbles meanwhile the box score clearly shows that UT threw 2 INTs while UF only had one fumble. You can't use turnovers as an excuse for not blowing a team out when you had less turnovers than the other team did. They don't keep stats on drops or else I'm sure I could prove that your comments about drops is idiotic as well since I'm sure UT had just as many.

Listen, I'm not doubting that you're a massive homer and you know a lot about UF football, you've already proven that many times over. What I am doubting is your ability to take off your orange and blue goggles and think rationally.

Yes, my team sucks (not as bad this year as some other years it appears). But I'm not the one coming on here telling other people that they don't know anything about football meanwhile disagreeing with common sense. And what does my team have to do with this discussion? Good attempt at flame baiting but I'm used to my team sucking; nothing new here. One day the Gators will be a crap team and maybe, just maybe, UF fans everywhere will pick up just a little humility and drop the pompous attitude. Ah who am I kidding. Even in the Zook years that didn't happen.

Wow, thanks man. I really was worried, I mean, here I am thinking about football and strategy and BAM the ESPN writers hit me. I got some news for you, that is his opinion. Everyone is entitled to one, whether it be wrong or not.

How ''Out there'' my thinking is? Do you not follow the logic?

Like I already pointed out, 21 points off failed execution. My original assesment of the game talked about how shitty we played... But yea. Had we executed (dropped balls/fumbles) than Monty's D would have held us to almost 40 pts. Go Monty.

Listen, I'm not doubting that you're a massive homer and you know a lot about UF football, you've already proven that many times over. What I am doubting is your ability to take off your orange and blue goggles and think rationally.

What the hell is a homer

Dont mention the Z00k years. Makes my eyes burn.

You call me an idiot and tell me I'm not using logic meanwhile I'm pointing out that somehow other people (on this board, ESPN, etc) have come to the same conclusion as me. Interesting.

This discussion isn't about the game, it's about the coach's comments after the game. Like I said, I didn't really watch the game so I can't comment on it. The ESPN guy's comments were also about what Urban said. While you may think Urban's comments were strictly strategy, it's clear to the rest of the sane world that it was more smack talk than anything else.

Homer - "Someone who shows blind loyalty to a team or organization, typically ignoring any shortcomings or faults they have."
