Just because I believe axing 2 awesome divisions was a bad idea and that I prefer styling that are not consistent with the past 30ish years of pure crap from the auto industry does not mean my opinions have no relevance.

Many people share this opinion, rather than hang off every chewy bit of garbage that rolled out of GM over the past few decades.

I'll support them when they do it right, like they have done with the camaro.

Your comments are as valid as anyone's on this site. Some of us older folks can relate but this site is comprised mostly of younger buyers who cannot relate because they only know the new stuff. There is a reason why GM will be lucky to hang onto 15% market share this year. You and I came from another era when GM dominated the US market and there were exciting/attractive vehicles in all their divisions. I don't give a rats butt about all the new/useless garbage in vehicles these days...but buyers want HUD, NAV, memory seats, etc. I'm encouraged by the designs of the Camaro and Cadillac CTS (can't wait to see the coupe up close). I would love to see another Monte Carlo and Grand National someday...but I doubt that will happen. I've been considering just driving a non-descript modern blob for my DD and finding a low-mileage older GM vehicle for my pleasure car. I miss the old days too, but times they are a changing and we just have to roll with as best we can.

I praise GM for things they do correctly. Every single thing you have complained about, GM has done correctly. You're so ingrained in GM's past that you can't look towards the future.

GM needs to remember its past (look to the Camaro for an example of that)...but it must not dwell in it. Like an old GM dealer video said, the future is in the windshield, not the rear view mirror.

You may not like the new Buick because you still remember the old RWD Buicks...but you need to remember that the market has changed. Cadillac is now GM's luxury performance division, not Buick. Buick is moving towards being America's lexus-fighter.

Here's two example's of Pontiac brand's that GM almost got right. The GTO is the first one that come's to mind if it had resembled a one and not whatever the hell it was I know for a fact they would have sold a shit load more than what they did. Next is the G8 if they had'nt already ruined the brand, well do I really need to say more.

Took them myself, Captain. I don't always take the time to set the wheels right for pics. Just my eye. When I shoot people, I hate "posed". I'll wait all day to take a great picture when the person doesn't know they are having their picture taken. You catch the real person. I guess it shows in the car pics as well.

Because some fat cat in a suit decided that thats the way they want you to think. How at 22 can I be Ingrained in the past, I never existed there? Its not my fault that the malibu, the impala, look terrible and are INSULTS to their heritage.

Its too bad that the corporations have fooled you into enjoying the big ol shit sandwich that they started serving in the late 70's - 80's. You can call it past dwelling if you want, all I ask for is styling that is NOT the following.

It's because you're so obsessed with older cars that you're incapable of seeing the future. I agree that the Impala needs a redesign, but the Malibu is perfectly fine, and millions of Americans agree. The market has moved on, and very few consumers want retro-themed designs. Perhaps you're not a fan of the current designs, but many other people are, and those many other people are the ones who are buying cars.
