You borrow money and pay it back plus interest. Done teaching for the day.

You get money and the they charge you out the rear end in interest, and then you constantly ask yourself if your degree was actually worth what you owe.

Being 21 does make it more enjoyable, but there is so much to do than drink and gamble.

Houston is on my list of cities I want to visit, but I'm an old fart so I find "boring" to be enjoyable these days.

I'm an old fart too. "Boring" is enjoyable. Just not every single day.

I find laying on the couch and watching Netflix to be my favorite hobby these day. I do enjoy going out and socializing with friends, but I need me time too.

Laying on the couch sounds like my average day off except I just flip through channels.

Picked up the new 2017 Cruze Hatchback on Friday. It was the normal, deal with the dealership crap. Why is nothing easy any more?

Got to the dealership about 11am. Talked with the Salesman, made sure we had everything to trade in the Sonic and then went to look at the car. Their washing crew is pretty good, as they also deal in a lot of vettes and Camaros (like Becky), so them washing and prepping the car wasn't a scary thing. As we were looking over the car, saw a small scratch on the headlight. Maybe 2" long, horizontal, like something struck it. Rest of the car looked great, but I wasn't happy about the headlight.

I spoke with the salesman, and pointed out I wasn't happy about that and would like that taken care of. "No problem Hank, let me speak with the manager". I guess, at that point, the manager wanted to talk to me, and well 'essentially' tells me there was nothing "they" could do with it. I mean he was nice, direct, a little firm in his tone. And I let him talk and explain his side of the story for about 5 minutes why they can't do anything to help me out. Then it was my turn to speak, and for those they have met me or seen me in person, getting on my bad side, or telling me 'I will have to live with it', wasn't something I was going to do. Now I get to speak, and it started like this "...Brad, I don't give a f*ck what you have to do to get this right, and if it takes ordering or finding a new car, I don't have god d*mn problem with that either. You can fix it by taking the light off another Cruze, you have 6 on the lot. But I am not taking a car with a visual scratch on it. So we can sit here and discuss what you want, or what you cannot do, and if your dealership wants to sell a car off the lot today, or order me a new one.". Brad says it could be up to six weeks to get another car, and not sure where we are in needing it. I tell Brad that I don't "need" a car till 2017, so I can take the Sonic back home and come back when I feel like dealing with them again. Brad says he will look into it.

Brad returns in 10 minutes and says they will be replacing the light, and it will be about an hour because they have to take off the bumper. I tell Brad not a problem, get to it. I turn to the salesman Bo and tell him I need a car to go eat lunch. I get a brand new 2016 Camaro SS to drive off the lot. We get a call as we are finishing up lunch that the car is ready. We return, check it all out, do the paperwork and we are off with a new Cruze. I got some pics, and will have to post later.

I don't think Brad likes me, nor wants to see me again. But who gives a crap about Brad, it's not his money or his car. My salesman Bo was awesome and a real down to earth guy, treated us with respect and addressed our concerns. But Brad, he got what was coming to him.

Sat was spent polishing and sealing it, along with some plumbing I had to get done due to new countertops and sink and faucet in the kitchen.

Got to love sales managers lol. At least you got the car and don't have to deal with it anymore. I did the same thing last week with the lease which I will talk about very soon. So my beater was causing more headaches than it was worth and did not want to deal with it anymore, so my father being a good man as he is said that he'll look for a lease. He's helped me out a lot while I finish up school and achieve the second degree but don't let that fool you. We went to the chevy dealership here and wanted to see the Malibu because the had some deals going on. The deal was a 2016 Malibu was $199 month and 2017 for $229 month. We get there and talk about the deal, the manager would not budge on the deals going on and a 2016 lease on it would be $259 month. I had to leave at that point due to class but after I left, he sat there with the manager and played dumb until he got his chance. When the old man spoke he asked why won't the dealership offer the special going on. Turns out that the manager there doesn't like offering the specials that chevy gives. He walked out, went down the street and got a Buick Verano in 10 minutes.

One more story, short one. This past summer I wanted to test drive the new camaro just to see what the difference was. I wasn't going to burn the tires off of it just wanted a feel to see if I want to upgrade next year or 2018. Go to the same dealership and saw one out front a 2SS, the salesman comes over and we talk for a bit. I asked if I could take it for a test drive and showed him I have a camaro that I brought. He goes in and talks to the manager about a test drive, a few minutes pass and he comes out with the keys. Feeling excited he comes out and says that I can't take it for a test drive cause it was the only one they had. At that point I was pissed and asked if I can at least see the inside and sit in it which I've seen the inside before. He still had the keys and opened the door for me and then I asked for him if he could start it and he said no.

At that point I wanted to leave, then the salesman had the guts to talk to me about my car. After the talk about it I guess he felt bad on not letting a customer test drive the car because when I started it up, the whole place turned there heads. Last time I go at that dealership for anything cause they just lost 2 customers. Sorry long rant.

Kinda funny. How is the car? I've been thinking about a cruze or sonic just to putz around town and use as a cheap A-B car.

22 years old, working 60/hour weeks as an EMT/Security guard doing the 6p-6a at a local power plant. But I just bought my dream car on August 24th, so I suppose it's worth it haha. Everything about buying a Camaro has been awesome. My dad had an '87 iroc z/28 when I was young and I always loved going for a ride in it. So I grew up, buckled down, and got my own memory maker. It's my first manual car too. It's crazy how such a commonly seen car (compared to like Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.) becomes a conversation piece. I always have people stop and talk to me about it. Love it! And these forums are a blast to research on. So many knowledgeable people and experiences to read about. Wouldn't trade it
