Did you own a camaro before this? What's your history?

Just curious.. I was thinking about this and what started it all for people.

I'm a young guy but when I was still a baby my father had a white 78 camaro. There is pictures of me sitting on the roof at 2 ish years old. I even fell off it one day. Last thing I saw was a bright white camaro before I hit my head so must have seen the light then. ever since then I've loved them. He also had a blue 79 z28. A 66 gold Le Mans. A lot of classic muscle cars when I was growing up. Back then they were just Junkers no one wanted in the early 90's. Weren't collectable yet and just fun cars and hot rods. I have tons of memories of riding in that Le Mans with no air conditioning and the same with the camaro. South FL and a cigarette plug fan going. My father always liked the late 70's camaros and owned a decent amount of them. I've been in the car hobby all my life.

As my first car my father helped me alittle to get a car from his friend. A 1992 z28 camaro. 350 car. It's red. I still have it. Wouldn't sell it for the world. I've also owned another red 1991 z28 with 11k miles on it. I sold it. A 1992 heritage edition RS with 80k miles I sold. A 96 z28 with 40k miles a girl ran a red light and totaled it for me. The first new car I ever bought in my name and not for the business was my 2014 camaro SS. I actually bought my father and gave to him a 98 formula ls1 firebird since he has always wanted one and couldn't afford to get one. That car has 77k miles, super hawk hood. Z06 wheels etc. great car he has had it 3 years now and loves it still.

I have been doing this all my life, how many of you have?

My 92

My 14

The formula

My mother had a inferno Orange ss but traded it for a 2014 ctsv coupe that makes 700rwhp

My low mile 91 I shouldn't have sold

My 92 heritage edition before I put the stripes back on

The 96 that got totaled

A 79 my father had about 8-9 years ago now

94 z28 convertible he also had at the time

And last but not least this is what my girlfriend drives

A 95 mystic teal z28 with 82k miles bought from the original owner.

We are f body people here. Have always been. Don't think that will ever change

What's YOUR story?

1985 Z/28. Manual. Red, with Orange (hideous in hindsight) interior seating option.

405 freeway, northbound, in Fountain Valley area. Rush hour. At that time the 405 center divider was fencing, held up by a steel cable. There was a dirt shoulder, not the diamond lane we have today.

I was in the lane 1, the "fast" lane. No passengers. Got cut off. Hit the brakes. Hit the car now in front of me, or go for the center divider? I went for the center divider, t-bone style.

The cable holding the fence flattened both A-pillars. The glass t-top exploded. The car was stopped from going to the other side of the freeway by the B-pillars, otherwise I would have been pin-balled by 405 southbound traffic.

I saw I was going into the fence, and I laid over into the passenger seat. Had I not done so, my head would have been separated from my shoulders. As it were, I was wearing my seat belt. Not a scratch. Sort of like a cable arrested carrier landing. I picked up a sliver of glass in my finger, brushing the t-top glass off my body. The glass came out on it's own about nine months later. Paramedics seemed happy, but my wife was happier.

Car was totaled. I went to the lot to pickup my personal stuff. Allstate paid. Out of Camaro until 2014 Z/28 came along. If the horse throws you, you get back in the saddle.

It just took Chevrolet almost 30 years to build me another saddle I liked.

First car was a 1967 RS Camaro. No photos, cameras weren't invented yet back then.

I'll chime in. Been born and bred GM. Pops, brother and uncle all did their time there. My dad always had the cool cars as soon as they came out which I think got me hooked on the muscle cars. He went thru the Trans Ams, Corvettes and Cadillac models as soon as they came out. He never did have a Camaro though but I always loved the look of them when I first saw them as a teen starting with the 67'.

First car was a 72' Duster that I trashed as a teen.

I went thru a Chevette (pos) that was my delivery car while I drove a 76 Monte Carlo. 68' El Camino next that I threw a tongue and groove wood deck in the rear for some reason; it looked nice.

Picked up a 72 Camaro when I moved to FL.
First new car after that an 86' Pontiac Lemans (needed reliability)
1990 Chevy pickup after that; it was hopped up by Choo Choo Customs outta TN
2001 Trailblazer next then as well got a
1967 Camaro that I traded in for a
1970 Corvette Stingray; awesome car she was
1970 Buick GS right after the Corvette; garage was full after getting married (5 cars) so unloaded the Vette
2004 Avalanche still drive
Sold the Buick to fund a 2013 1SS 1LE. I loved that Buick.

Agreed! I miss that car a ton. On nice days I really miss having my T-Tops. Just couldn't justify having a 5th car, with limited parking space, and the wife wasn't TOO keen on me getting the 2013 while having all these other cars.

But I really needed a reliable car. I had too many projects going on at the time

I've had a few.

1987 Iroc Z 5.0 TPI - Red - Auto
1996 Trans Am - Red -Auto
2000 Trans Am - Navy Blue Metallic - M6
2001 Firehawk Trans Am - Red - Auto
2002 Trans Am WS6 - Sunset Orange Metallic - M6
1978 Trans Am - Black - Auto
2001 Camaro SS - White - M6
2010 Camaro 2SS - Black - M6
2010 Camaro 2SS - White - M6
2012 Camaro 1LT - Orange - Auto

Currently have a '69 Chevelle and that's the only go fast toy. If I get another Camaro, it will probably be a 1st gen or another Iroc.
