say for example the fine print didnt exist. i could go buy a camaro right now and return it and that car has lost about $4k in value in those 2 months which means GM just ate $4k.

good business practice? no
Obviously you are a Ford guy but expressing your feelings on a GM supportive site by calling them "idiots...poor...."etc...I think you can express your argument a little better. And if you are not about to purchase a GM why do you even care? and if you want to debate...why not do it in a calm manner...there is a difference between debating and ranting

only because i feel very strongly about the politics behind the whole bailout Gm thing.

i simply dont feel they are doing any better than before. so i feel that i have the right to call them idiots.

and ive owned many GM cars in the past so that gives me the right to question this

Yes it does..but I think that you need to change the way you present your argument...because most people on this site will not see past your rants...and then basically will not care about what you have to say

"the right"...I love that term. How about this...do you have the FACTS to call them idiots? NO. Frankly, I don't have the facts to defend them...but I'm gonna anyways because it's fun to debate un-know-able things.

This campaign will do exactly what GM needs to happen. And that is to get people into GM cars. With such a bold, comprehensive promise of "money-back if you don't like it", it will do exactly that. The goal? That people flood GM dealerships and try out there cars, perhaps some with the intent of giving it back and buying a Toyota anyways....but the vast majority will find out that their GM car is very impressive, and they'll keep it. Cha-ching GM.

As for the "fine print"... They put that in there to protect against car-hopping morons who would take advantage of the program. Chances are, somebody won't like the car and will go and buy a competitor with that money-back...I assure you Toyota will find a way to get them credit.

And finally...I refuse to get into this debate anymore, because it's ridiculous, and over with...but what does GM's loans, etc have to do with this program?

first hey Junkie Dragoneye long time! 2nd I think the move is ballsy and I also believe if someone buys the car the chance that they return it is infinitesimal. So in the end cosmikeybum I dont believe GM has really anything to loose.

hey thats fine your entitled to that opinion.

and yes i agree it will get people into the dealerships.........however i think a major percentage will turn away once they discover the fine print.

we'll see.

dont get me wrong here.........i want GM to succeed? why? because it means jobs........jobs mean car buying power........car buying power means accessories and etc..........making the economy better.

i simply think that GM should offer a 60 day refund policy with no fine print or dont do it at all.

but we agree on one thing.........lets get these dumb car companies out of the hole and back to being big employers

Bro if there was no fine print you know how many 59 day test drives would be happening?

Thank you. I mean, how hard was that to figure out? Without that caveat, everyone would just drive the car around for 2 months for free and take it back.

Your welcome and then GM would loose millions that they cant afford to loose. The way it is now the general public see it as confidence and strength in the belief that there product is strong enough or even superior to the competition. Enough that in GM's belief if you drive it for 59 days then you will keep it. Some might be enticed that normally wouldnt because they have an out.
