Heated seats. Let them warm up in the sun all day then put them on the seats before getting in.

Yes... in fact, today it's parked in a different spot (I'm the first person to arrive on site each day, to an empty parking lot... later each day, the lot is full, and always includes this cherry... cardboard and all...).

And, in spite of today's weather being rain, on and off (the pics were from a couple of days ago), the cardboard is dutifully placed, and getting soggy out there.

Does it get hot enough to melt wiper blades onto the windshield?

write your queston on the box, and see if he/she replies on the piece or cardboard.

The cardboard under the wipers give better "wiping" to clear the rain and they leave very nice etching design in the glass.

Maybe he lost a bunch of change to the front of the windscreen and he uses the cardboard to hide it so some homeless guy won't break his windshield to take it

It's the other way around.....The wipers are holding the cardboard down so the wind will not blow it off.

Some good theories... but this is the best one yet! OF COURSE the answer is, "to keep the cardboard from blowing away!"

I am intrigued... I really thought somebody would be able to offer an idea, maybe they know somebody who does this, whatever. I may have to stake the car out, and ask the owner. I may write the question on the cardboard, and await an answer. I may tear a little piece off every day, so it gets a little smaller, every day, to see if he notices the small daily shrinkage. I may try replacing each piece of cardboard with a $1 bill, for no other reason than to make HIM go, "WTF?!?"

I think he's been to the "green dispensary" too often.

It's for his "pain" and "hallucinations".
