Sounds like the cheapest option is Charger, followed by the Ford Interceptors. Outside Impala Limited 9C1, Chevrolet is the priciest.

Isn't this what Australian cops drive lol

A friend of mine is a cop. He loved the Crown Vics when his department had them, wasn't a fan of the Chargers. The higher ranks got to drive Tahoes and he said those were amazing.

I think right now the full time troopers are getting their choice of Charger or Tahoe.

Theres a Suburban (or Tahoe?) in my area that I believe is outfitted for a Trooper (I think) with a matte blue or flat blue paint job and oh man it's so good looking.

They still do Suburban PPV's correct? Just want to be sure it's actually a cruiser and not someone making it look like one

NJ state police are replacing the old fleet all with either Caprice, or Tahoe's.

Crown Vic's were the best, fun to drive and reliable. The Taurus interceptor is just awful though.

They build Tahoe PPVs. They're pursuit rated in 4WD form now too.

GM isn't immune to issues with their police cars.

My friend said the Taurus was just meh. Below average but not the worst. Wasn't a fan of the Explorer much either He said the absolute worst was the Impala, like early 2000s Impala.

I've never driven an Impala so can't say, but I'm sure there is a reason you hardly see them. Problems I've had with the Taurus, transmission getting stuck in gear and refusing to shift, car stalling when put into reverse, the steering wheel latch breaks on nearly every one I've driven so the steering wheel is no longer locked in place, car with less than 5k miles developed some sort of violent vibration coming from the engine bay. Among other smaller issues. Only plus is that the AWD system works pretty damn good in the snow.

Ahh so maybe it's a Tahoe and I'm thinking its a Suburban. I'll check next time and see what it actually is. Wonder how long it'll be until some 4x4 Tahoe PPV's will be available to the public.

Most county and local agencies down here use Impalas. Not sure what they're going to do once production ends in June. Probably switch to Taurus.

This issue is also showing up in the Chevy SS sedan.
