I have test driven the Mini, not the S though.
I have driven my stepmom's GT
And I've driven a friends Evo, I've heard the handling is similar in the WRX
I've also driven a friends Civic Si, and I wasn't as impressed with the performance as I was the styling, but that's how most rice type cars are now.
I've also driven the Yukon Denali, don't really want it for the performance though, it's fully loaded with features, sunroof, dvd player, XM, 6 disc, bose, and everything else you can get and don't really need

Also, does anyone know where I can build a 2009 cobalt SS?
The chevy website seems to only let me build the 08

Give it a month or two. They just released the 2009 product Info, so it'll be a little while before you're allowed to build one on the site. That said, I ran across this a few minutes ago:

Decided to wait for the camaro unless something seriously dissapoints me at unveiling. And I doubt that will happen.

Changed my mind again.
I went to the chevy and BMW dealer today.
I sat in a fully loaded 2006 MINI cooper S with 18k miles, but the price was 27 something, I asked if they could bring it down to 24, they said they will get back to me. The feel of it was great, my 6 foot 240 pound body fit nicely. I still want a test drive, but I'm not 18 so I can't sign any waivers, gotta get my dad down there.

So then, it was about 12pm PST, so I decided I would get some info abut that Cobalt SS and then watch the Camaro unveiling with em while I was there.
They had a fully loaded cobalt sport, but no SS. I really like the thing in person, you guys were right. I sat in it, fired it up, it sounded good. 7 speaker Pioneer, sunroof, cruise control, everything but leather seats, which I don't want in the california heat anyways, they get sticky in temperatures over 90, which is all summer. Gas Mileage is good, only thing was that it was an auto. So I asked if he could bring it down to 20,500, from 22,700. I made sure he knew that was FIRM, no going above that, plus I wanted a full tank, my xm subscription bumped up to a year, some floor mats, and license plate frames. He said he would have to talk to the sales manager and get back to me. I will still have to test drive both the SS and sport. I also told him I was more interested in the 5 speed. He has my info, and now I need to talk to my dad to see if he wants to pull the trigger on the deal. I probably won't end up going for it though, I want the SS, for 1500$ more and you get more features and a HUGE HP boost.

Watched the Camaro unvieling. Dissapointed in the February 16th production date. Salesman told me that they wouldn't get em in showrooms till april, and those will be marked up 500-1,500 until about June.

I think I'm between the Mini and Cobalt now, gotta test drive now.

Yeah I'm 6 ft as well. I washed my moms rental car (Cobalt LS) earlier today, and then moved it out of the drive way so I could wash my grandpa's lexus..
All I did was do a U-Turn in the street with the cobalt, (cuz I'm not insured to drive it) and then pressed the gas a lil hard before I stopped and I was like, woah...
that thing has a shit load of power...I've never driven a fast/lightweight car, so it was very odd. (in a good way)
All I've driven was the taurus & the es 330.
I fit a hell of a lot better in it than I thought I would too...
I dunno...if I wasn't able to get the camaro in the future I'd consider the cobalt...assuming they haven't screwed it up by then (the design I mean)

Legacy you said you didn't like the back of the cobalt - you could always go aftermarket for different headlight setup/new bumper.
Which rear end is it you don't prefer?, the one with just the outside brake lights? or the one that somewhat reminds me of the impala?

I actually don't mind the way it looks with the high spoiler after I've been looking at them. I wouldn't go aftermarket. And to think that was just the LS, imagine the Sport or SS. I might actually go for the sport one if my Dad isn't willing to get me the other one because of Power and insurance.

I'd of course have to go 2 door as well. I despise 4 doors...
and the cobalt looks so much slower as a 4 door. Lol
GL on getting it, I rather wish I could snag 1 up...
I bet the SS feels like a freakin rocket.

Unless you have a family there is no point in 4 doors.
And even then...it's a stretch
So I talked to my dad, and he's reluctant to talk about the 260hp SS.
Right now it's looking like sport cobalt, or civic si.
Cobalt has 25 more lb/ft torque, civic has 25 more HP. The civic is 2 liters, the cobalt is 2.4, so I guess that means cobalt has more potential. I think I'm gonna take the sport for 1,500$ less and get some rims, and a tint. Maybe something for performance, but I don't know much about that category so i don't know what i would want.

I'm 6'2" and heard that I might...need to pull the seat up a notch so I'm not so far away from the steering wheel.

You're referring to the Cobalt?
cuz at 6' I fit just perfectly with the seat all the way back and the upright part of the chair slightly back as well.
any closer and I'd feel like I'm in a clown car.

One thing I don't like about the Civic Si - the steering wheel looks/feels like a small plate, rather than a large plate..if you know what I mean...
I've sat in the civics quite a few times..and it feels Much more cramped than the cobalt does. I think thats because of how in-your-face the dash board/controls are tho...
the cobalts controls are at a much more even distance.
The exterior is alright I guess (of the Si), it's very Honda-like...guess thats what you should expect from a Honda tho...
Plus the cobalts white illuminated interior is badass, I love that - for some reason.
I'd want a white cobalt with black interior, sport. with black handles and blackened tail lights.
I'm obsessed with black & white.

flat out -
Si - Decent, but feels too small (This coming from a 6' 160 lbs person)
Cobalt - Nice, pretty much in all aspects. (This coming from a 6' 161 lbs person)...inflation...

if you lived near me i'd let you test drive my cobalt sport but... the 2.4l cobalt has a lot of potential for a good build and if you want a head turner a cobalt sport is just the thing
