I've gone to the dark side....
I traded my once loved 2014ss in for a murdered out 2016 gt. I loved my car until my l99 got a lifter tap, I was going to trade it in anyways on a 2016 ss until this happened. So I got a lifter that was tapping crazy loud, took it in and they said oh that's an exhaust leak. So I go to the exhaust shop and have them put new gaskets on and take it back to the dealership and it's still tapping super loud , and I mean loud. Sits for two weeks, they won't touch it cause I have a cold air intake. Go pick it up and I have the service manager come out and he's like, I don't hear anything.
So with my warranty coming to an end I was going nowhere with this being fixed under warranty I traded it off at a loss. I have had nothing but nightmares with gm and their warranties. All my trucks are fords and I've never had one problem. I will never understand the bad culture that is so ingrained into gm service departments across the country. I have to say my GT is super nice and no afm so that's a huge freaking plus. |

Well, congratulations on your new ride. They are nice cars, I'll give you that.
However, your GM experience often depends on your locale. Down here in SoCal, I've had nothing but great experiences with their service departments. The latest just before Christmas last year- I busted a rocker on cylinder 3 and they fixed my modded car (headers, hfc's, cai, tune) right up without question - ya, no warranty, but they fixed it right and they did it very efficiently. I've had no problems since and my power is there - this is all I could ever ask for. Sorry to hear about your experiences... but I doubt you've been to every service department at every location around this great nation of ours for you to blanket judge all GM service departments that way. |

GT, you mean mustang? Last one I bought was in 96. Tip: Some kind of OEM Goodyear tires on mine and they were absolute garbage. All 4 let go on a mild wet turn and sent me flying sideways into a post. Last straw was they left me with 0 sterring on a wet corner and I creased about three cars going the other way. Insurance nightmare that took me years to recover from.
I put new tires and wheels on it right before I sold it and thought.... hmmmmmm maybe not so bad. But the damage was done. Left a really bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully they have better rubber these days. I drove my 2012 Lincoln MkZ for three years. Traded my 07 Edge on it. That was a nice ride, but boring as hell... Good luck. Check the tires...

Why is your warranty coming to and on a 2014? You have 5 years or 100,000 miles on the powertrain.
Even if it was was an exhaust leak at the headers it would have been covered. Why take it to a muffler shop? I never heard of any dealer refusing to work on a car because of an aftermarket CAI. You were dealing with idiots if what you are saying is all true. I certainly wouldn't have traded a car under warranty for a noise. Sounds more like you really wanted a Mustang and needed an excuse to jump. Thats fine. They are nice cars, but if you think Fords don't break, you are living in a dream world. If you think all Ford dealers are great, again, dream world. I own an HVAC business and have bought more trucks than I could ever count without going through the records. Fords were way higher in maintenance cost and repairs than than the chevys we had. So, many years ago we started buying nothing but chevys. Point being, they all make good and they all make bad. Good luck with your mustang. I had a GT500 and loved it. I just like my ZL1 better. I would love to see how much money you lost trading a car that new. Never mind, I know, you didn't lose any. No one ever does. |

That's what you get for using Buckalew...
Should have taken it to Tomball and C5 member David Croft would have fixed you right up. |

The latest generation Mustang body style is pretty sick looking, I like em. I'd like to drive a 2016 GT 350R, 530 HP flat plane crank engine. One negative to the Mustangs is their such pigs. The GT 350R is like 4000 lb vehicle weight. The basic GT is nice too, with 425 HP coyote engine I believe, but still a pig weight wise. The 2016 Camaro SS weighs 250 lbs less, with more HP. When the GT 350 R appears on the lots, I'm gonna go test drive one, if possible.

New mustang definitely looks good. Sucks they aren't much faster than their predecessors but speed was never really the problem. They did address the handling however (bye bye rear axle) and interior. I had the choice between a new 5.0 and 1le (among other choices of course) and I choose the 1le. You really can't go wrong with either. Congrats.
