At this point, I'm convinced that nearly anything that will fit in the back of a mid-size truck will fit in the tC. When we put the desk we bought in the car and closed the hatch, we actually watched someone try unsuccessfully to fit the same desk in a VW Touareg SUV.

Essentially, what I'm saying is that I love the car (its a 2 door coupe) as a truck, but think it fails miserably as a daily driver, which might be why Scion no longer exists.
Wow. Interior materials of a Versa, but able to fit a large desk? That thing has a shape very alike to a Prius, but how was that desk able to fit in there?

I know that. That's why I'm saying that I see why Toyota didn't bring their variant over. They knew Scion was going down and that they'd have the FR-S.

I have been in a few Toyota and a few Scion models over the years. Toyota has never been impressive to me. They do a good job making a reliable car for someone who wants little to no maintenance with decent gas mileage. The interior is very lackluster. The car settings also are very lackluster. They have two options for each and have to be set by dealer mostly. Was in a 2010 Camry temporarily during my divorce. Lexus is overpriced Toyota's.

Scion on the other hand has been very unimpressive and I know the Subaru version of the FR-S is slightly better so not shocked there. The local Scion dealer here is a pain and very rude to customers. Also, Toyota made it so only certain people can sell them by attending training and all this other stuff as it was explained to a friend one day when trying to buy one. He did not buy one because of how difficult it was to get one.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

I would most likely tell her to get a lease on a Camaro

We had a 2012 XB for awhile. I was looking for a cheap reliable car that got good gas mileage for my wife. Our Prius was starting to have battery issues (yeah I just admitted to having a prius), so I decided to trade it in rather than potentially have to pay big bucks for battery issues. We went up into the mountains one day and the batteries drained so low that the car would shut off. I put it into the mode for recharging while coasting when we started going back down hill and drove straight to a Toyota dealership. We were torn between a Rav4 and the XB and decided to go with the XB based on claimed gas mileage. I didn't do any prior research since I was basically trying to offload the prius. We were expecting 28 mpgs and ended up getting closer to 18 mpg due to the highway speed limit being 75mph and having a crappy transmission. It drove me nuts that our economy car got worse gas mileage than my corvette and now my cammed Camaro. The fuel tank was really small I cant remember its capacity but on long trips we were always stopping to get gas it was very annoying.
Other than the mpgs I never had any issues with the car in the 150,000 miles we put on it I never did anything other than tires, oil and brake pads. But it always had a super cheap feeling.
I wanted to trade it in for a long time but my wife was against it and wanting to pay it off in full before buying a new vehicle even though we owed less than the value of the car. I finally talked her into looking at an 07 Tahoe LTZ with 52,000 miles. She had the attitude of "well Ill look at it but theres no way you can convince me that we should buy it". As soon as she looked inside she changed her mind. Getting rid of the XB was one of the best things Ive done, I am so glad I don't have that car any more. Even better is that we have more room comfort and amenities in the Tahoe and get 17 mpg's. The insurance also dropped a significant amount.

I guess Scion was worse in reliability than their parent company. I do not get how an economy car would get below 20 MPG, I have seen a hybrid (the Subaru [XV] Crosstrek hybrid) get below 25 MPG, and the Crosstrek is based off an Impreza platform. Scion seems to not be very safe, I know someone who had an original xB which was totaled, but now the person owns a Honda Insight (the 5 door) and wants their daughter to get an Insight as well (the Insignt owner's husband has a Subaru Legacy).

Scion I think has improved in that category of safety, but the only thing they should have worked on was sales, which they can't improve on either anymore.

My wife has a Prius. 96K miles and going strong.
My programmer, his wife has a Scion and it's nothing but trouble. It's paid for so it's maintenance now. Last year was $1700 in repairs. The Prius has been tires and brakes, wear items. I'd buy another Prius in a heartbeat, scion? No way. Subaru? Cheap crap.

If I were to choose between a Prius or an xB, I would choose Prius because it is more reliable but I have no idea why Scions were less reliable than Toyotas. Speaking of Subarus, I know someone who has a '11 Outback and the dashboard is all scratched up. Subaru's quality back in the day was terrible and basic, but now they're not so basic and the quality seems to be better.
