Garmin is about as good as they get, I have a 1490T, wanted the bigger display. Others are out with a few more wiz-bangs, but for best route selection, ease of updating maps, and ease of use while operating Garmin is hard to beat, and most important, accurate route selection with the avoidance feature, like avoid highways or avoid toll roads, etc..

I like Tom-Tom also but it never fairs as well in route calculation, and when the smoke clears that is what you want it to be really good at...
