Beautiful 57 Nomad

I went to lunch yesterday and ran across this beautiful 57 Nomad in the restaurant parking lot. Spoke briefly with the owner, who told me he restores and sells old Chevys, but this is his personal vehicle that he has restored and repowered with an LS1 and 4L60 powertrain. He'd also put disc brakes on all four corners. I guess he was towing it back home after a transmission problem, but the restoration and paintwork was impeccable. I have to imagine it is a lot of fun when it it is running.

Wow, I love that! Nomads are gorgeous cars!
Did you get his name? Does he have a website for his restoration/sales business?

Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. He was with his wife, and she had that "oh god, it's another car guy" look on her face when I walked over, so I didn't keep him too long. He did tell me that he is from Dixie, Georgia. Will poke around and see if I can figure out who he is.

Both his car and truck have Florida plates, so his shop might be across the border in FL. Maybe Tallahassee?

I didn't see the plate on his truck but the trailer has a Lee county tag which is the Ft. Myers area. The Nomad has an "OLD" Florida tag where the 1st number was the county 4 = Pinellas county which was the Clearwater / St. Petersburg area.
