I didn't think the stock shift knob worked on the MGW. I know the 13+ work because they have the retaining screw. I didn't know that they worked for earlier models. I would switch. I had the race knob, loved it and then switched to a ball. I found the ball much more comfortable for DD use.

I use a Hurst T handle shifter in my 91. I like it even for DD use. Had that in there almost two years.

Yeah I had a ball shift knob in my last car and I liked it but hated it on cold days lol

It's definitely a different feel but I like it a lot better than a ball now. I get in my buddies 300z and I almost hate a ball shifter lol I still have one for my car laying around though.
