GM Lawsuit & C6 Z06
Seen this the other day but didn't think any of it. I'm not on any Corvette forums so this is news to me. Just read it and this lawsuit could snow ball to the current C7. I see it dragging over some years though.

Why do we live in a world of junk anymore? Not just GM it's everywhere in damn near every product, and yet we keep putting up with it. It takes threats of lawsuits get somewhere ,and that usually doesn't get people fully compensated. Welcome to the new corporate business model. I wonder how many Gen5 Camaros or any other car for that matter will be as reliable as my dad's 57 Olds.

You need to look up a 57 Olds with a J2 engine sometime. Not exactly simple. Three deuces can be much harder to set up then a fuel injected motor where you down load a program and let the computer do the rest. They could build quality if they wanted to. Quality hurts corporate profits. Just make it good enough to get past the warranty seems to be the new way. It's just like the shocks in our ZL1s not lasting. They just tell you thats normal while you are expected to shell out thousands for new ones. I guess GM figured they couldn't build good enough to get past their warranty so they lowered it.

Yes it does. GM also gave buyers an additional free oil change to cover it and my dealer made sure to point it out when I picked it up.

I'm on my second and one of my buddies is on his third LS7. It is a very common problem and the failure is frequently catastrophic. It seems to be a lot more of an issue among tracked cars, but it is still very annoying. Mine got covered under warranty no questions asked, which was great and I commend Chevy for that. It was a big consideration for me when I was looking at the C7 z06 and with the overheating issues already apparent, I won't be buying one. A competitor will get my money.

I don't think the current Z06 problems are all that big of a deal, but it's hard to swallow spending over $100,000 on a car that is so engine-focused when they are having engine problems. I'll probably get the Mercedes instead. It's really too bad because when functioning properly the C7 Z06 is one incredible machine. I just would feel like there is a big, "but" to that purchase and for that kind of money that's not okay.

It's the first generation LT-4. In 2007 the GT500's had clutch issues, the GTR's were grenading transmissions, the 6.1 Liters in the SRT-8's were overheating... The whole
"Don't buy the first year" Wasn't some made up proverb for laughs... This all being said, I'll probably look at the 2016 CTS-V. I trust the boys at Cadillac especially since the internal competition between Cadillac and Corvette have been heating up over the years.
