But....the vette also can have an 8 speed auto and since we're talking drag racing, that one would totally annihilate those competitors by a good full second+.

The auto will only be a couple of tenths faster than the manual Z06.

http://www.vettetv.com/stock-2015-co...-drag-radials/ Here is another. Same car, same driver. 10.42 on stock tires I don't know what a stock C7 Z06 auto would run in a quarter so I googled it and found this stuff

I found that car and driver did 11.5 in the manual and 11.1 in the auto. Looks like there is no way that guy is stock.

That doesn't sound ANYTHING like what I would imagine. Not really sure if I love it or not. Sounds a lot harsher than I expected from a German super-ish car.
Also, I think it needs a subtle spoiler on that rear.

Well, at the speeds these cars are doing, 2 tenths appears to be a car length if not 1.5 or 2. In drag racing, my peception in this context is 'considerable'. But think about it, I've seen plenty of people spend a fair amount of money to lose a couple of tenths. However, no, I wouldn't call it 'blowing them away', just considerable.

Don't have to go fast to have fun. And it's barely slower than that Lexus, with 1/3 the HP.

No doubt is a great car, and it will be fun to drive. It would also be my pick for the autocross, but it isn't barely slower than the Lexus. It was over a second and half slower in the drag race and almost 8 seconds slower for the lightning lap. I'd rather have the Mazda all the same.
