Dry rot on tires.

Does anybody else think this is a lot of dry rot on these tires? Date code is the 18th week of 2012 and they are the original tires on the vehicle which we bought new in August of 2012. The tires have around 35,000 miles on them.

Dry rot is UV exposure damage from the sun, not necessarily from the amount of miles on the tires.
I wouldn't trust those tires on a long highway road trip. If you have to go on a road trip, ensure your tire pressure is within specs.

Change them before they cause you problems.

I'd go this route. What's maybe 6-700 dollars vs needing to potentially replace body panels, suspension components, a new wheel etc.

I understand all of the above, the question is given the age of the tires, is the condition of the tires worse than what should be expected?

Yes, for three year old tires, that shouldn't happen, I would check the warranty on the tires and see if the dealership will replace them

When you clean/wash your car, what tire dressing do you use?
This looks like something that Armor-All does to tires. If you're an Armor-All user, stop immediately. It contains silicones and actually draws the natural moisture out of rubber, leather and vinyl, and slowly breaks them down. We don't allow any Armor-All products in our shop specifically for that reason. If you see a car with tires that have a dry brown look to them, they are victims of silicone based products.

I find that Michelin tires always look like that over time.

Ragnar is correct, i been dealin with tires over the last 20 years, and michelin and BF Goodrich (<--owned by michelin) are the worse for weather cracking early. You pay a premium for Michelins but they dont like heat or UV's

What do you use on your tires, leather and vinyl then?

We either use a Meguiars tire shine with a sponge, or a Turtle wax spray.
There's a couple other things we use for show cars, but that's a bit more unconventional..
