Some of them send the video real time to a computer, tablet or smartphone. So, they wouldn't need to come on you're property to prove it conceivably.

I here what you're say though, I would probably shoot one down if it spent any length of time hovering over my house.

I agree with you on this. Right now, though, there is a huge hole in the law allowing people to fly drones just about anywhere. Years ago, I was into remote control aircraft. I guess no one realizes that all you need is a $25 servo and you can give any drone the ability to drop a payload. That scares me. It scares me enough to not want any drones buzzing over my property.

Well, not entirely true. The space above above your property used to be considered yours in the US up to about 500Feet. It isn't an exact law that is written ,but people have sued and won over it. A chicken farmer even won a case against the government for flying 83 feet over his farm which caused his chickens to get spooked and die. It's a very gray area. I have read that the government wants to make a defined law now and lower what is actually yours. Just another one of our rights that will be disappearing in the name of progress I call it. Pretty soon, we'll have to have cameras inside of our homes for big brother to spy on us. I forgot, they can already do this with OnStar, tablets, and smartphones.

Face it, we are screwed.

You are right. Don't own the air.. But, the difference is, RC planes are pretty much line of sight. Most of them are also noisy and need a decent runway to take off. (Unless it's a chopper).. If you decide to use one for mischief, you probably aren't going to be too hard to find.

Drones are a whole different breed. Someone could program the flight path, put the control on an electronic delay, and be in a different state when it takes off..... I know, I'm being paranoid... It still spooks me.

Buy a cheap drone/ quad copter under $100 . Fly the cheap drone into the expensive drone resulting in a crash . Problem solved .

Once it enters my air space, it's going to be looked at as trespassing whether anyone is in it or not. And out here in the country, I can shoot guns anywhere on my property without issue. That includes "up". I don't need a right to shoot it down. If there's a multi-bladed helicopter "toy" or whatever hovering over my property, I WILL take it out if I feel the need to protect my property. Because out here, anyone flying one over my property is likely up to no good.

I live in the flight path of a smaller airport that is also a training facility. I think if I started shooting up in the air I might lose more than my guns and rightfully so. People go to jail for pointing laser lights in the sky and you want to discharge your guns just up in the air because you can???? I thinking your confusing your right to bear arms with when you can and cannot discharge them.
As far as proof you don't think people are recording with the same device used to fly it.
It's people acting that way that will cost us our rights.

Wow, lot's of "keyboard warriors" here, LOL.

I saw a news article a week or two ago about a drone that was flying over a yard where a man's teen daughter's were out back sun bathing. The father saw the drone above them (observing them) and threw a towel into the propellers to bring it down.

The news reported the father was arrested and made liable for the cost of the drone device.

I'm not supporting drones, I think if they come on my property I should be able to oust them as well... but the law says otherwise and the keyboard warriors who would "throat punch" will find many days in confinement as a result, unfortunately. (or fortunately, maybe)
