Im not buying the 430lb ft of torque either. Otherwise every blown Camaro would of trashed the trans by now. Unless you think they dont make an extra 10lbft of torque.
Oh 150 shot....trashed trans. Cai...trashed trans. headers trashed trans. pine tree air freshener....trashed trans. LOL at all the people who own mustang gts that think they are better performance cars than camaros. Thats like me saying the Camaro SS is a better performance car than a gt500. LOL. |

You still never answered my questions. How is the Mustang a better muscle car if it loses almost every catagory concering performance to the Camaro? If they werent judging performance why put "Mustang wins with less power" and have hp levels on the cover with 3 MUSCLE cars? How is a 5speed manual better than a 6 speed manual that can handle more power? Im not mad, you just dont make sense. Let me know when a track pack Mustang laps the ring in 8:20. I mean it wins with less power. It pulls more g's. Its got better trunk space. I honestly dont even care that the mustang won the article. Its how they portray it on the cover as if its a better performance car with 100 less hp, when its b.s. They can say it has better interior and trunk space ect.ect.ect. Who cares? It still gets its ass whooped on the streets and any track. It bothers me that they didnt mention that. Its because of $$$$. You can spin any car to be better than any other car if you compare them correctly. Thats what they did. |

informed knew that. As for the cover, if you look at it your gonna expect to read the article and see how the Mustang beat the Camaro in PERFORMANCE. This was obviously not the case. Hence the deception. |

they probably said "though the camaro and challenger beat the mustang on the track and drag the interior and accesories of the mustang makes it the clear winner here. they do this all the time |

I'll take acceleration over all of it.
So when you add it all up, interior, exterior, road performance, and acceleration, I'd say; Get yourself a Camaro, get your brother a Chally and get your sister a Mustang.

Not really, it's referenced in the vs section which links the actual article. They said the Mustang handled better and was more fun to drive.

In that respect the Camaro reminds me a lot of the Corvette's from the 1960's, relatively one dimensional cars that were only fair in the corners but which put down serious speed on the straights depending upon the engines used. It's why we see a history where the 289 Cobra consistently trounced the Grand Sport Vette at virtually every venue but Nassau, where the long straights gave the Chevy the opportunity to use that big hp from the larger V8's the GS typically employed and where Shelby typically broke his cars trying to match the Vette in terms of hp. As for the Camaro itself, if GM wants this car to be remembered as a great performance car they will have to fix the handling issues, no plainer way to state it. As for right now the Camaro is, in a way, a much less expensive take on the same ideology that produced the Buick Grand National in the 1980's. Put simply, a good looking, comfortable, fast car will sell well whether it handles well or not. |
